To say that Olsen admires Superman is an understatement, as the photographer has followed the hero on some crazy adventures. Power Girl is Jimmy Olsen's Actual Favorite Hero

However, there’s one hero that even the biggest Superman fan in Metropolis has to admit might be even better than the Big Blue Boy Scout. In DC's Harley Quinn Romances #1’s story "Power Girl and All-American Boy" by Amanda Deibert and Adriana Melo, Superman is in the middle of a rescue with his cousin from Earth-2, Power Girl. After taking an interest in Karen’s love life, Clark offers to set her up on a date with his pal Jimmy Olsen. Power Girl relents and meets Olsen for a dinner, nearly turned off by his overt interest in superheroes. However, Jimmy flatters Power Girl by complimenting the technology she’s developed as head of Starr Industries. She becomes even more taken by Olsen after he mentions there being something 'special' about Power Girl in comparison to his favorite superhero, Superman.

In the same way he’s ignorant about Superman’s double life, Jimmy has no clue that Karen Starr’s secret identity is actually Power Girl. So when he compliments the Kryptonian hero by calling her special, he’s not trying to make her fall for him. Hearing that Olsen thinks Power Girl may be more interesting than Superman is quite an admission. Not only is Jimmy possibly the biggest fan of Superman, they’re very close friends. But it seems that Jimmy has a depth to him, and there’s more to him than just being a Superman fanboy.

Heroes like Power Girl are just as valuable as Superman, and maybe he’s been around the block long enough to realize that Supes isn’t the end-all, be-all of heroism.
