Superman's impressive rogue's gallery of villains is about to get bigger. DC Comics unveiled the Man of Steel will get an all-new bad guy to spar with, as a villain named Synamar will appear in an upcoming issue of Superman. Synamar is being teased as a colossal new threat for Superman and the entire DC Universe as a whole.

DC has described Synamar as a "unique warrior" who's trained for his entire life and was created to represent an entire alien race. The new villain is set to head to Earth to take down everything Superman is trying to protect. Writer Brian Michael Bendis said he can't wait for readers to meet Symanar, saying there are a few surprises in store for Superman. He teased Synmar's connection to Superman and called him a villain Superman's never faced before.

I can’t wait for fans to check out this issue,” said writer Brian Michael Bendis. “Ivan Reis returns for this issue and this is some of his best work I’ve seen yet. Along with that, we’re introducing a new surprise or two and a new threat, Synamar.

Synamar comes from a part of the galaxy so alien and so remote that his connection to Superman would seem impossible at first.” “But it’s very real and bad news for the planet Earth. “Synmar is something superman has never faced before;” it’ll take all the experience and lessons Superman’s learned throughout his entire life to stop Synamar from destroying everything he’s sworn to protect.

What could Synamar's "impossible connection" to Superman be?

Things aren't easy for Superman at the moment after he publicly revealed his secret identity to the world. Before he'll face off against Synamar, he'll take on the Justice League's most powerful member in Doctor Fate in Superman #24. Considering how Superman is susceptible to magic, he might not be at full power when Synamar decides to show up. However, he's going to be at his best to take down the mysterious new villain and ensure he doesn't destroy everything and everyone he cares about.
