Warning! Spoilers ahead for Batman/Catwoman #12

In the final issue of DC's Batman/Catwoman maxiseries, Superman arrives wearing a new suit that totally defeats the purpose of his secret identity. Serving as witnesses to Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle's nuptial vows, Kal-El and his wife Lois are the only guests present during Batman and Catwoman's last-minute wedding. However, Superman's new style does steal some of the spotlight. While he was with loved ones and trusted friends, the new suit would immediately out the Man of Steel as mild-mannered Clark Kent if he wore it out in public.

In previous issues of Tom King and Clay Mann's Batman/Catwoman 12-issue maxiseries, King has been giving the Bat and Cat the ending he always intended when he was writing DC's ongoing Batman series a few years ago. Set in an alternate timeline, Bruce and Selina's past, present, and future are explored with an impressive depth and finality such as an elderly Catwoman killing the Joker after the Dark Knight dies from old age. However, the final issue is largely focused on their present with Batman and Catwoman finally getting married (having the wedding they were denied in the primary continuity).

As seen in Batman/Catwoman #12Selina and Bruce elect to get married at a 24-hour chapel in Gotham. Rather than being a major event with all the flair and expense one would expect from a billionaire such as Bruce Wayne, Selina and Bruce decide that all they need is each other. While Bruce prepares to pay extra for the legal witnesses required, Selina convinces Bruce to call Superman and Lois Lane to fulfill the honor instead. Thanks to the wonders of Kal-El's super-speed and hearing, they're there in a single second, and Superman is wearing a tailored blue suit combined with a red shirt and yellow tie (the colors of his super suit).

While it's a very cool suit for Clark Kent, it's unlikely that his glasses and clumsy demeanor would be enough to keep his identity anonymous as Superman (if it was still secret). The new look practically dares people to guess that Clark Kent is the Man of Steel. Seeing as how Superman revealed his identity to the public a few years ago, he could certainly wear his new threads out in public if he wanted to.

At any rate, the blue, red, and yellow suit is a great cherry on top of Clark and Lois' last-minute attendance to Batman and Catwoman's equally last-minute wedding. While Batman/Catwoman is set in an alternate timeline, it would be a lot of fun to see Clark's new suit featured in future stories in the main DC canon. It would be perfect way to show that Superman's secret identity no longer matters.
