New casting breakdowns for the latest Arrowverse show Superman & Lois suggests a previously established character could be recast. Starring Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Superman & Lois was set up as a potential series following the massive crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths. As a result of the multiverse merging into one Earth, Clark and Lois found themselves with two sons instead of one. The series will now follow the iconic duo as they grapple with parenthood, something that hasn't been touched upon in previous live-action iterations of the characters.

Back in January, Superman & Lois was officially announced to be picked up by The CW, making it the latest show to join the ever-expanding Arrowverse. While another Arrowverse spin-off, Green Arrow and the Canarieswaits to hear if it has been picked up, Superman & Lois is reportedly looking to jump right into production. Filming was looking to begin sometime soon, but as most Arrowverse shows are currently delayed due to the coronavirus, it's unclear if Superman & Lois will be stuck with the same fate. Regardless, the casting search continues.

Casting breakdowns shared by The Illuminerdi provide more details about supporting characters for Superman & Lois, and one is particularly telling. General Samuel Lane, Lois' father, appeared on the first season of Supergirl and was played by Glenn Morshower. The character hasn't been seen since then, but it looks like Superman & Lois is looking to include him in a big way. The series is looking for a Caucasian man in his 60s for the part, which is described as "a serious Army General whose main mission is to protect the United States of America as well as the world from any threats, whether it comes from on or off Earth."

Another character looking to be recast is Morgan Edge, who was played by Adrian Pasdar on Supergirl. While the casting breakdown didn't specifically mention Morgan, the description of "a smart, forceful and intense billionaire who has for some reason continued to succeed" seems to fit the antagonist. The only actors to be cast for Superman & Lois at this time beside Hoechlin and Tulloch are Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin as Clark and Lois' sons Jonathan and Jordan. Todd Helbing (The Flash) will serve as showrunner alongside executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns.

Fans are excited for Superman & Lois, and these casting breakdowns could heighten their interest. Considering Samuel's previous hatred of aliens, it will be interesting to see how he responds to his daughter being married to one. The breakdowns indicate the couple will have their hands full with opposing forces on top of raising two teenage boys, which will surely make for an interesting show. As Superman & Lois inches closer to production, hopefully more details will be revealed soon.
