The CW's Superman & Lois looks like it will feature a classic version of the DC hero, based on set photos shared by star Elizabeth Tulloch. The upcoming Arrowverse series stars Tulloch as reporter Lois Lane, while Tyler Hoechlin plays Clark Kent/Superman. The two actors are reprising roles they've taken on before. Most recently, both starred in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, which united heroes from across the Arrowverse. Though Superman & Lois essentially functions as a spinoff of Supergirl, that show will air its series finale in 2021, meaning the shows will only air together for one season.

Superman & Lois promises to offer a different take on a love story that's been seen many times before. For one, the show will partly focus on Lois and Clark's adventures in parenthood. Their two teenage sons will play a key role, with Tulloch recently sharing a behind-the-scenes photo of the Super family. Superman & Lois will also be set in Smallville rather than bustling Metropolis. This will set it apart from other Arrowverse series, most of which take place in big cities. However, Smallville is an iconic location for Superman, so it makes sense to place the show there.

Recently, Tulloch shared two photos via Instagram stories which suggest Superman & Lois showing a classic version of Clark Kent. In one of the images, a Daily Planet headline reads "Superman Saves Family From Burning Building!" The other photo shows Hoechlin wearing Clark's trademark glasses and suit while standing in front of a shelf of newspapers. Check out both images below:

Based on what's already known about Superman & Lois, these photos serve as additional proof the show will utilize signature elements of Superman's character. Hoechlin's look in the second photo is classic Clark Kent. Meanwhile, the headline in the first image suggests Superman won't be shy about playing the hero. Saving a family from a burning building is a regular day for the Man of Steel. Both photos also tease The Daily Planet's central role in the series, which may reassure Superman purists.

All told, these new images should make Arrowverse viewers even more eager to check out Superman & Lois when it premieres in February. It looks like the series will be an exciting addition to The CW's lineup and fit right in with the other DC heroes. The parenting aspect of the show is still a departure for the Arrowverse. However, it's clear Superman & Lois will hang onto many classic superhero tropes.
