A new Superman and Lois photo offers a fresh look at Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The upcoming show premieres in February and will feature Elizabeth Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin reprising their roles from elsewhere in the Arrowverse. The CW announced Superman and Lois over a year ago. However, production on the series was delayed due to the pandemic, so filming didn't start until October. Though Superman and Lois is a part of the Arrowverse, it will be a departure of sorts for the franchise. The show will focus on Clark and Lois raising their two sons in Smallville following a tragedy. The Arrowverse hasn't yet tackled parenthood on such a large scale.
In addition to Superman and Lois, the series will feature several familiar characters from DC Comics. These include Jonathan Kent, one of the couple's sons, Samuel Lane, Lois' father, and Lana Lang, an old friend of Clark's. Though Superman and Lois' premiere is still a couple months away, several photos have teased what viewers can expect when it debuts. Tulloch has shared many images from the show's set, while The CW provided a first look at Superman's new costume earlier this week. All told, excitement is brewing for the upcoming show.
The CW has now revealed another image from Superman and Lois. It shows the power couple in front of their Smallville farm, with the Superman logo visible in the sky. Notably, Clark is dressed as himself rather than Superman. Check out the new image below:
Though no story details can be gleaned from the new photo, it highlights the importance of Clark and Lois' civilian lives in the series. The Superman logo is present, but the focus is on the two heroes at home. It will be exciting to see Superman and Lois tackle that side of their story with more depth. Parenthood will provide an interesting challenge for the two that hasn't been depicted very much onscreen. They'll have to wrestle with keeping both their sons and the city of Smallville safe.
If successful, Superman and Lois could play an important role in the Arrowverse going forward. With Arrow ending this year and Supergirl next, a new wave of heroes is needed to keep the franchise going. As two of the most well-known DC characters, Superman and Lois could be just the people for the job. However, viewers will have to wait for Superman and Lois' premiere to see if that comes to fruition.
