How Superman & Lois' Season 3 Trailer Hints To Lois Dying
Superman & Lois's season 3 trailer suggests that the season will seemingly start off with Lois being kidnapped. The trailer emphasizes the peril of the situation with Lois also revealing that she is pregnant. One shot in the trailer portrays Superman flying towards Lois as she screams with an outstretched arm, with her and Clark's former news outlet, the Daily Planet, crumbling behind her. With the globe of the Daily Planet appearing to fall on Lois, another scene in the trailer could also hint at the death of Lois Lane.
In the next scene shown in the Superman & Lois season 3 trailer, Clark says to Jordan and Jonathan "We are gonna get through this as a family," with Clark seemingly fighting back tears as he does so. Clark's statement to his sons could be his effort to console Jordan and Jonathan after the unexpected demise Lois. However, while Lois is most certainly endangered throughout the Superman & Lois season 3 trailer, there could be more going than meets the eye.
Why Lois Probably Doesn't Die
Despite Lois being kidnapped in the trailer, it is probably a case of misdirection ahead of Superman & Lois's season 3 premiere. Even with so many villains in Superman & Lois season 3 heightening the stakes, killing off Lois Lane would have huge ramifications and is not likely to be the kind of dark twist Superman & Lois would take in right at the start of a new season. A more likely scenario is that after her kidnapping, Lois has a close brush with death, and this forms a significant portion of the story of Superman & Lois season 3.
If Lois' death is indeed a fakeout, Clark's words to Jordan and Jonathan could be the result of Lois being in intensive care after her injuries, with Clark trying to assure his sons that she will be alright. To be sure, it is not impossible that Superman & Lois might do the unthinkable and kill off Lois Lane right at the beginning of season 3. However, with Lois' significance to the show, her survival or resurrection is probably being hidden to keep the whole story under wraps, which could include Darkseid's potential appearance in Superman & Lois season 3.
