Superman & Lois is the next Arrowverse spinoff that is coming in the 2020-2021 TV season. After having been introduced on Supergirl in season 2, Tyler Hoechlin’s iteration of the Man of Steel will officially be leading his own series on The CW. But as the title says it, Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane will be part of leading the upcoming DC drama. While the last son of Krypton has had his fair share of appearances in the ever-growing franchise, several of his villains and supporting characters have made it onto the Girl of Steel’s show. Some were either series regulars while others had guest spots that were either recurring or one-shots.

Little is currently known about the latest Superman-led show, other than Clark and Lois will be tackling parenthood. The spinoff has the option to feature some of the previously established Superman characters while also introducing new ones. Here are 10 Superman-related characters that have already appeared in the Arrowverse who should show up in the spinoff at some point.

Jimmy Olsen

Supergirl Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen

Since the first season of Melissa Benoist’s show, Jimmy Olsen was one of the main players all the way into the early start of season 5. After he decided to leave CatCo, Jimmy finds a new purpose elsewhere as the character exited the series. Following Crisis on Infinite Earths, not much has been said about Superman’s famous pal.

While they have a few scenes when Hoechlin’s Clark first showed up, that was about it. With Superman & Lois, it would be weird to not see Jimmy at least once, especially after the game-changing crossover that has brought the characters of Earth-38 to Earth-Prime.

Lex Luthor

Lex Luthor in Supergirl

Even though they took part in the same 5-part crossover, Superman barely had any scenes with Lex Luthor except when they were both on Earth-96. While their history has been discussed and hinted at by other characters, it’s hard to imagine Superman & Lois not planning to have Lex appear in some capacity. Given Lex’s current arc in season 5, it’s possible that the end of the season might set up his move from Supergirl to the spinoff. Lex is, after all, the Man of Steel’s most formidable foe out of all of them.

Cat Grant

Someone that has been greatly missed by fans and the characters themselves is Cat Grant. The reimagined version of the character is still one of the best additions to the Arrowverse since Supergirl began. While Cat keeps getting mentioned every once in a while; she hasn’t been back in a while.

Given her history with characters from the Daily Planet, it would be a shock if they couldn’t find a way for Cat to show up for at least one episode. It’d also be amusing to see her finally have an on-screen scene with Lois after she has hinted at their past off-screen history in earlier seasons.

Silver Banshee

The first season had Silver Banshee, one of Superman and Supergirl’s shared foes from the comics, come in for a multi-episode arc. Since her team-up with Livewire in Kara’s first crossover with The Flash, Banshee hasn’t been seen once. If there aren’t any plans to bring her back to National City any time soon, it might be time to have her show up in Metropolis and clash with the Man of Tomorrow.

Maggie Sawyers

Floriana Lima as Maggie from Supergirl

Since her break-up with Alex Danvers in season 3, Maggie Sawyers hasn’t made it back to the Arrowverse. Given that she is one of the characters in the Superman comics connected to Metropolis’ law enforcement, seeing her have a working relationship with the Man of Steel could be intriguing.

With Crisis on Infinite Earths having changed the continuity for Earth-Prime, there’s a way now to alter Maggie’s history too. From her mixed relationship with Alex to even recasting the part, there are ways to give Maggie another go in the Arrowverse that is more associated with Superman.

Mxyzptlk

Since his reemergence in Supergirl’s 100th episode, Mr. Mxyzptlk is someone that has to visit Superman & Lois at some point. After all, he is mostly known as one of the most famous villains in Clark’s rogue’s gallery. With the character’s recasting and re-introduction. it became the perfect set up for the Fifth Dimension-based foe to mess with the Man of Steel.

Maxwell Lord

Peter Facinelli plays Maxwell Lord on Supergirl

Despite being one of the biggest DC villains, Supergirl didn’t really take full advantage of Maxwell Lord. Reimagining him as not a metahuman, Lord hasn’t been around since the first season before the series made the move from CBS to The CW for season two.

With the latest crossover, Superman & Lois could reboot this version to be more comics accurate, setting up a potential big bad for future seasons even. Whether it’s for a whole season or just a recurring arc, Lord is a villain that could benefit from taking on the Man of Tomorrow.

Lucy Lane

Lucy Lane from Supergirl

Before Lois joined the Arrowverse, her family had already made it into the franchise with both her father and sister appearing in Supergirl’s first season. While Sam Lane was recently recast for the spinoff, Lois’ little sister hasn’t been back once since the season 1 finale. Not only would it be amazing to see the first on-screen scene between the two sisters, but also seeing Lucy getting to be an aunt to Lois and Clark’s sons.

Maxima

While she appeared in a cameo appearance back in season 1, Maxima hasn’t been back in National City ever since then. Since the Man of Steel doesn’t have a lot of female foes to take on, Maxima is one of the few ones that the spinoffs should re-introduce and flesh out. With Crisis, they can establish their own version of Maxima rather than the brief history that was given during her first appearance.

General Zod

Despite appearing as a hallucination to Clark when he was under the effects of silver Kryptonite, the status of General Zod has been a bit ambiguous. In the pre-Crisis timeline on Earth-38, Zod was initially said to be dead before being mentioned by the Legion to be alive in the future. Through the changes of Crisis, Superman & Lois could now get a redo with Zod as it will be a wasted opportunity not having Hoechlin’s Kal-El go up against one of Krypton’s most dangerous villains.
