Warning! Spoilers for Flashpoint Beyond #3 by DC Comics
While Flashpoint Superman and the main version of the hero in the DC Universe have similar origins, the former had a much deadlier mission once he arrived on Earth from his father, Jor-El. In Flashpoint Beyond #3 by DC Comics, it's revealed Subject One was sent to Earth so that he could destroy its people and create a new version of Krypton. Thankfully, Flashpoint Superman didn't follow through on his father's grave request.
Like Batman, Superman's Flashpoint counterpart is a much deadlier take on the main version of the DC Comics heroes. However, Kal-El didn't have much choice as he became a super-soldier for the government after his rocket crash-landed in Metropolis, not in a small town in Kansas, and killed more than 35,000 people. Flashpoint Superman, otherwise known as Subject One, was raised in a lab and lived a life he never wanted as part of Project Superman. Now, DC Comics reveals Flashpoint Superman's origin and mission on Earth were much darker than anyone could have imagined.
In Flashpoint Beyond #3 by Geoff Johns, Jeremy Adams, Tim Sheridan, Xermanico, Mikel Janin, Romulo Fajardo Jr., and Jordie Bellaire from DC Comics, Thomas Wayne's Batman is confronted by Subject One, who knocks the Dark Knight out cold. Flashpoint Batman awakens in "The Oasis," a sanctuary created by Jason Woodrue's Swamp Thing to house all of those across the DC Universe who didn't have a home, including Superman. Poison Ivy and Subject One use crystals to show Jor-El's last message to Superman in his rocket, as his father tells them he's been assigned to Earth while other Kryptonian children have been sent to other worlds. Jor-El's message tells Superman his mission is to use his powers to disarm humans in advance of his race's arrivals, saying they will conquer the planet, "father and son. Together."
The pending thread is days away, as Jor-El's forces will soon attack the planet in an alien invasion. Superman and Poison Ivy reveal they need Batman's help assembling heroes for their army, mentioning Bloodline, Cyborg, Element Woman, Starman, Eclipsa, and Snapper Carr. However, Batman refuses, leaving The Oasis despite the news Jor-El is coming to enslave the planet.
The Kryptonians in the Flashpoint universe had much deadlier intentions than their Earth-0 counterparts. Sending children across the cosmos to conquer worlds is sinister. The Flashpoint universe got lucky that Superman decided to reveal the message and work alongside his new planet's superpowered individuals to fight against the pending invasion. Otherwise, Jor-El's plan to have Flashpoint Superman conquer Earth would have been something they could never have seen coming.
