Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Flash #771!

In the newest issue of The Flash, Superman gets hit by the Speed Force's lightning bolt. This happens as Reverse-Flash is being inducted into the Legion of Doom. However, it's not the real Reverse Flash as Wally West had taken over his body. This is just the next stage of Wally's journey throughout time and space, with this jump going further than any of the others. This time, he hasn't only time traveled but has jumped into another version of reality in the Omniverse.

The issue begins as Wally sees Superman lying cold on the ground. It's at this point that the Legion of Doom hail that Reverse-Flash has killed Superman! Reverse Flash's act is met with applause by all, except Lex Luthor who is jealous. As this is all happening, Wally tries his best to not give himself away. However, the charade is broken as Superman supposedly rises from the dead. Wally's act is up as he finds out where he is, on the Legion's base on the dark side of the moon.

In The Flash #771 by Jeremy Adams and Kevin Maguire, Superman becomes ultra-powerful. The Speed Force running through his veins is highly volatile and ready to explode. This is the same reaction that every other conduit has had, although Superman being hit is far more dangerous. This is because of his Kryptonian DNA and the way that he is built, it's likely that if he were to explode, it would be catastrophic.

The only way that Wally, as Reverse-Flash, is able to defeat Superman is by using the same tech that Lex used to capture him. At this point, Reverse-Flash runs after Lex, demanding an explanation of how he de-powered him before. Lex easily budges as Reverse-Flash shakes his face at super speed, revealing that all he needs to do is click one button. Harnessing the dampening ray, Wally de-powers Superman and prepares to be flung into his next body.

If they weren't in space, it's possible that Superman could've had speedster powers. Given that a raptor was turned into a speedster, there are high chances that the Man of Steel might have been temporarily a speedster. It would've been exciting to see Reverse-Flash and Superman race, considering that Flash and Superman's speed is always in question. Ultimately, it looks like Wally's Speed Force journey is nearing its end as he arrives at the Sanctuary from Heroes in Crisis. It's been teased that this could be the Flash's final stop as the Speed Force reveals its true intentions
