Superman defeats Batman in dark fan art by BossLogic. Both popular characters have been in the news recently thanks to their roles in the DC Extended Universe. Despite being two of the most popular comic book heroes of all time, the DCEU has struggled to make its versions of Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne work. This is part of the reason why Robert Pattinson is taking over the role from original Batman Ben Affleck for the upcoming movie The Batman. It also explains why Cavill's future role in the DCEU has been in jeopardy, with Warner Bros. reportedly unsure Superman could successfully lead another solo movie at this time. Luckily, the company isn't ready to give up on Cavill's Superman entirely, as made clear by the recent news the actor is in talks for another appearance.

Batman and Superman first appeared together in the DCEU in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It marked the first time the characters were in a live-action movie together. However, despite hype surrounding the film, it was considered both a critical and commercial disappointment. A similar fate befell the followup movie Justice League, though that film will have a chance at redemption, thanks to the Snyder Cut releasing on HBO Max next year.

A key scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is Batman's Knightmare about an evil version of Superman. Recent fan art by BossLogic is reminiscent of that moment, or what audiences could have seen if Bruce hadn't woken up. In the art, a bloody Superman holds Batman's metal cowl, similar to when he ripped it off his face in the Knightmare scene. The artist also included the caption "The Red Capes Are Coming!," an allusion to what Lex Luthor says in the film. Check out the Superman fan art below:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is far from the only movie to tease a darker version of the DC hero. Thanks to his especially virtuous reputation, many storytellers, including in the comics, have enjoyed exploring what an evil version of Superman would be like. However, BossLogic's take is especially violent, considering the amount of blood and the chilling image of Batman's cowl. Though the Knightmare scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ends before revealing the aftermath of Superman's attack on Batman, this is feasibly what could have happened.

If Cavill does appear in the DCEU again, it's possible fans could see a darker version of his character, though that probably wouldn't be for awhile. As he will likely cameo in another DC film first, a meaty storyline like that one could be saved for Man of Steel 2, if it ever comes to fruition. In the meantime, BossLogic's art gives a good – and creepy – indication of what an evil Superman would look like.
