The new Supergirl season 6 trailer has finally arrived, giving fans a glimpse at the hit superhero’s saga’s final stretch. Led by Melissa Benoist’s Kara Zor-El/Kara Danvers, Supergirl has been one of Arrowverse’s most popular series for years, along with other big hits like Arrow and The Flash. The show will officially end after season 6, set to premiere on The CW on March 30.

Though the Arrowverse still has a massive fan base and several active shows, the franchise has dropped off a bit in recent times from the peak it once reached. The cancellations of series like Arrow, Black Lightning, and now Supergirl have put more pressure on the other shows to carry to the load, particularly The Flash, which just returned for the start of its seventh season. The new series Superman & Lois has gained some early praise and attention, and Batwoman has retained a set of dedicated fans. Still, the future of the Arrowverse remains somewhat uncertain.

A new trailer for Supergirl season 6 has given a glimpse at the show’s final chapter, which looks to be full of all the same action, adventure, and excitement fans have come to expect. Seeing Benoist and the rest of the cast take their final turns on the series will surely be bittersweet, but at least it looks like Supergirl is going out in style with a big showdown against Lex Luthor. Watch the new trailer from below.

It looks like the new and improved Lex Luthor is looking to create his own “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” Given how long the villain has been a thorn in Kara’s side, it only seems fitting that her last season in the spotlight will pit her against Luther once again in a reality-threatening battle for Earth. Hopefully, season 6 can offer a satisfying resolution for fans and a climactic battle for the series’ eponymous heroine.

Because of the Arrowverse’s past penchant for cameo appearances, time travel, and multiverse-hopping, there’s also the chance Benoist or any of her costars could continue to appear in the franchise in the future, either in crossover events or in one-off episodes of ongoing shows. Much of that will depend on what the Arrowverse looks like going forward, as Warner Bros. and DC put more effort into original content for HBO Max. For now, fans can at least revel in a triumphant victory lap for Supergirl, premiering on The CW on March 30.
