Supergirl season 6 has set a premiere date for its final episodes. The series is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. In Supergirl season 1, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) exposes her superhuman abilities to society, paving the way for her journey throughout the course of the show. Supergirl was renewed for season 6, also its last, in January 2020. The show is currently airing the first part of the season, which will conclude after two more episodes to air May 4 and 11, titled "Prom Again!" and "Fear Knot." So far, Supergirl season 6 has shown Kara imprisoned in an alternate dimension called the Phantom Zone by Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer). The most recent episode took the show back in time and explored Kara's origin story.

According to The CW, Supergirl season 6 will resume on August 24 at 9 p.m. after a mid-season break of over three months. There will be 13 episodes remaining in the season at that point. Supergirl will share Tuesday nights with Stargirl, back for season 2.

If new episodes are released every week, the Supergirl series finale is primed to air in mid-November. However, it's entirely likely the network may have more breaks planned around the holidays and/or other programming to air. This could wind up extending Supergirl's final run of episodes a little. Luckily, after the show ends, CW viewers will still have Superman & Lois, which also takes place within the Arrowverse shared universe. That's already been renewed for season 2, so audiences can expect more from that world going forward, despite the conclusion of Supergirl.
