Supergirl's Nicole Maines hints at her future in Arrowverse after the show's conclusion. Supergirl is part of the CW's ever-expanding Arrowverse. The series focuses on the adventures of Kara Danvers, the cousin of Clarke Kent, aka Superman. Throughout the various seasons, Supergirl has come into her own as a superhero, working alongside many allies to take down seemingly impossible foes.

Despite the show's success, Supergirl's upcoming season 6 will be the last. This joint decision was reportedly made by Supergirl star Melissa Benoist, as well as the CW and the show's related producers; in part, the show's cancellation was due to both delays and the series' continued low ratings. In response to the announcement, Benoist posted a message on Instagram, where she expressed her gratitude and humility at the incredible opportunity to play such an iconic character.

Supergirl actress Nicole Maines is chiming in as well, where she weighs in on the show's end and hints at her character's future via a heartfelt Twitter post. Maines, who plays Nia Nal, aka Dreamer, on the series, writes that Dreamer was developed explicitly for Supergirl. However, Maines is optimistic about the show's cancellation, stating that this isn't "the last of her" and highlighting that she is excited to "see where [Dreamer] pops up next." You can see Maines' full tweet below:

Although Maines' tweet is more cryptic than fans would like, it's a subtle nod towards Dreamer's potential future appearances in the Arrowverse. While Dreamer was first introduced to the show in season 4, a new CW Supergirl poster for season 6 heavily featured the hero front and center. While the poster implies that Dreamer, her ancestry, and her planet of Naltor may play an essential role in the upcoming season, it's good to see that this isn't the last time fans will get to see Dreamer in action. If anything, considering Dreamer's immense popularity, this might be the perfect time for the hero to get a spinoff show of her own.

While Supergirl is coming to an end, the characters the show has introduced to viewers have taken on a life of their own. As such, while it's evident that the Arrowverse is currently going through a fair amount of reshuffling, the CW would benefit from placing more weight on characters who have already proven to be well-liked by audience members. In particular, many fans would likely agree that Nia Nal deserves her time to shine and that it would be nothing short of a dream to see Maines wear the mask as Dreamer once more.
