In a new cosplay from @cosplayer.gal, Supergirl's Earth-2 counterpart, Power Girl, is brought to life in a stunning ensemble showcasing the longtime DC Comics hero. The look takes Power Girl from the pages of the comics and shows what she could look like in live-action. The eye-catching (and mostly comic-accurate) costume of Kara Zor-L proves to be a fantastic take on the character who's been a member of the Justice Society of America, Infinity Inc., and the Birds of Prey.

Power Girl first appeared in All-Star Comics #58 and was created by Gerry Conway, Ric Estrada, and Wally Wood. Kara Zor-L is Earth-2's version of Supergirl, who shares a similar origin to the popular DC Comics hero. However, the character is essentially a more mature version of Supergirl, who has become a leader and notable figure among many superteams - most notably, the Justice Society of America. Power Girl's powers are relatively the same as Supergirl's, but she doesn't have the same vulnerability to Kryptonite. The hero is known for her risqué look, with her window on her costume drawing considerable attention and criticism from readers and creators. In a widely panned story, writer Geoff Johns tried to explain the cleavage in JSA: Classified by saying Power Girl was waiting to discover her own symbol like Superman and left a hole in her costume until she found it.

On her Instagram account, @cosplayer.gal shared her take on Power Girl. Her take on Kara Zor-L is pretty spot-on, as the cosplayer wears a similar white leotard with a red belt and cape. The look is accented with blue gloves and boots, with a similar cut-out at the top of her costume. The cosplay is completed with a blonde wig similar to Power Girl's hairstyle.

@cosplayer.gal shared a small video snippet of her in the Power Girl costume, where she strikes a heroic pose.

While Power Girl might get the most attention for her costume, the character is actually a real fun DC Comics hero whose stories with the JSA and solo stories (by Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray, and Amanda Conner) are absolutely worth reading. With several heroes from across the DC Multiverse starring or co-starring in live-action films, it seems like it's just a matter of time before Power Girl joins them as well. Until that happens, enjoy @cosplayer.gal's cosplay of Power Girl and check out some of the character's DC Comics adventures.
