A leaked screenshot from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may reveal that Ken Masters from the Street Fighter series is joining the game's roster. If the screenshot is indeed a legitimate leak, Ken will serve as the second Street Fighter representative in Ultimate.

With a roster of over 70 characters, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set to be the biggest game in the series. One of the main selling points of the game is that it contains every fighter in franchise history, including forgotten fighters from 17 years ago and DLC characters from the previous installment. Ultimate will come with at least 103 stages at launch and is packed with several new and returning modes.

As reported by Game Informer, a new screenshot doing on the rounds online seems to reveal that Ken is one of the game's new characters. The screenshot shows Ken standing next to Pichu, Ivysaur, and Pac-Man on the Moray Towers stage. The model used for Ken looks to be too unique to be an edited version of Ryu, and doesn't appear to be taken directly from any Street Fighter game, so it's possible that the image is real.

It's worth noting that of all the characters supposedly leaked for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ken seems to be the most likely addition. Reddit user Vergeben previously leaked that all characters from the Wii U and 3DS versions would return for Ultimate, and stated that Metroid's Ridley and Simon from Castlevania would join as newcomers. He also revealed that Isabelle from Animal Crossing and Ken from Street Fighter would be present as echo fighters (clones) of Villager and Ryu respectively. While Isabelle was instead added as a completely new character, Vergeben's "leaks" have proven to be mostly accurate. Ken remains one of the few characters leaked by Vergeben who hasn't been confirmed yet. Another is Incineroar from Pokemon Sun and Moon.

While the Super Smash Bros. games haven't included two guest characters from the same series before, the inclusion of Ken as an echo fighter to Ryu isn't far-fetched in the least. In Ken's earliest appearances in the Street Fighter series, he shared Ryu's moveset, so Ken would certainly work as an echo fighter.

If Ken is in Ultimate, he'll be the game's fifth echo fighter, along with Chrom, Daisy, Dark Samus, and Richter. Ken would bring the total number of new characters to 10. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai has warned fans not to expect "too many new challengers," so there may not be many characters announcements left.
