Fans awaiting the Nintendo Switch's upcoming Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury are now getting a good look at what to expect when it releases on February 12, thanks to a fresh batch of official screenshots on Nintendo UK's official website. The screenshots show off the prowess of the revamped game's new photo mode, as well as what to expect in moment-to-moment gameplay from Bowser's Fury.

The Switch port of the popular and hugely Super Mario 3D World (which originally released on the ill-fated Wii U) was announced back in September, promising to add a bevy of new content for fans of one of gaming history's most popular and enduring series. That's a bonus considering that the game originally garnered praise for its breadth of content and replay value. The addition of Bowser's Fury was another factor that made Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury more than just another port, possibly setting a precedent for future Wii U ports that didn't sell well on their first go-around on the low-selling Switch predecessor.

Since the port's announcement, Nintendo has been fairly generous with updates about what to expect out of it when it arrives on the Switch in mid-February, including co-op support for Captain Toad courses, an all-new photo mode, and open-world gameplay in Bowser's Fury. Now, Nintendo UK is offering a slightly different update, putting up dozens of official Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury screenshots, giving an even wider glimpse into its gameplay, environments, and characters. Interestingly, this latest batch of screenshots appear to have been taken using the game's Snapshot Mode, allowing the Super Mario Odyssey-like photo mode to speak for itself. (Curiously, these images are missing from the Nintendo of America site at publication time.)

There are only a little over two weeks left before the port hits shelves, so it's unlikely that Nintendo will be giving out any more major updates about what players will encounter in February. Instead, players can expect more updates of this sort - better looks at what's to come, particularly Bowser's fiery Fury form, of which there are plenty of shots of him raising some hell on Lake Lapcat. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury's cat theme is also likely to continue getting the spotlight, as it runs deeply throughout the Bowser's Fury expansion. It's enough to get fans properly hyped, regardless of how they feel about cat ears all over the place.

From what's been shown so far, there's plenty for fans to be excited about when Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury makes its way onto the Switch. It's proving to be more of a new game and less of a port than the base game - it's bigger, faster, and packing more content than before, and players will clearly have a lot of options when it comes to grabbing eye-catching images in-game.
