New details have been revealed for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch title, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, including more about the game’s photo mode and Bowser Jr co-op mode. After being one of the few gaming successes on the Wii U, the rerelease of Super Mario 3D World on the Switch will continue Nintendo’s 35th Anniversary celebrations of the Super Mario franchise.

After a long time with very little news, Nintendo finally revealed a new trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. This video focused on the intense wrath of King Koopa himself, as he took the gigantic shape of Mega Fury Bowser. With falling spikes and fiery blast attacks emitting from Mega Fury Bowser during the two-minute clip, Nintendo has shown that this is one form of Bowser that is certainly not to be messed with.

Nintendo released yet another video earlier today, this time further exploring the new tools and mechanics that will be available to players of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. By using the game’s Snapshot Mode, players will be able to freeze time during their gameplay and capture photos of their progress. With the use of zoom, filters and novelty in-game stamps that can be collected throughout the courses within Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, each picture taken can be as individual and creative as the player is themselves.

Nintendo’s video also goes on to share more details about its newest addition to the Mario franchise, Bowser’s Fury. Set on a tranquil cat island, Mario teams up with an unlikely comrade to help cleanse the lands of Bowser’s ire. Bowser Jr will be Mario’s sidekick throughout this new adventure, and players will be able to take control of him in co-op mode. Players will be able to use Bowser Jr, as well as his clown car and paint brush, to crush, swipe and soar through the courses and overcome the island’s perils.

When Nintendo launched its new website for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury last week, they promised fans that more content would be coming. So far, it has certainly delivered on that promise. Revealing that Plessie from Super Mario 3D World will also feature in Bowser’s Fury, as well as the requirements to allow Mario to take the mighty form of Giga Cat Mario, the updates for Nintendo fans just keep on coming.

Given the anger and annoyance that Nintendo has caused its community over the last few months, it is a welcome change to have something on the horizon that can channel attentions in a more positive direction. The only fury coming from Nintendo should really just be that of Bowser.
