Paige DeSorbo is usually a Summer House cast fan favorite, but fans are slamming her for a comment she made in a recent episode, regarding Lindsay Hubbard’s love interests. Lindsay came into season 6 single and ready to have a “Hot Hubbs Summer.” In previous Summer House seasons, Lindsay was either in a relationship or trying to find someone to settle down with, with the goal of getting married and having kids. This season, Lindsay took the pressure off herself and decided to freeze her eggs and just have a fun, carefree summer.
For her 35th birthday, Lindsay threw a wild and twisted pool party with a fairytale theme, and she invited Austen Kroll from Southern Charm. Lindsay and Austen had a brief fling a while back, which Lindsay hoped to rekindle during the Summer House spinoff, Winter House. However, sparks flew between Austen and Summer House star Ciara Miller, and although their relationship didn’t work out, Ciara still had feelings for him. When Austen came to Lindsay’s 35th birthday party, he locked lips with the birthday girl in front of everyone, leaving Ciara heartbroken.
After the make-out session, Lindsay went out and brought a guy home. The following morning, the Summer House cast members saw Lindsay leaving to drive him home. During a confessional, Paige asked the camera, “What type of brothel are we running here?” Reddit user Lolaxanon was outraged and wrote, “What kind of sl*t shaming hell is this?” Many fans of the show agreed that Paige was being judgmental and a bit hypocritical. A Reddit user wrote, “Lindsay had a casual make-out with a friend where neither one took it seriously and then slept with someone else. Paige actively dated two guys who were friends. She’s such a hypocrite.”
A Reddit user also pointed out Summer House's Paige's steamy hot tub scene with her fellow Winter House star, Andrea Denver, while Ciara and Austen were making out next to them. Paige and Andrea dated casually while she was also seeing Southern Charm star, Craig Conover. During the earlier episodes of Summer House season 6, fans saw Paige string Andrea along while she was also dating Craig. Although Andrea wanted a more serious relationship with Paige, she ended up choosing Craig. Many fans called out Paige for her double standard and accused her of being judgmental.
Paige may just be sticking up for Ciara, whom she’s the closest to in Summer House. Ciara was visibly upset by Austen and Lindsay’s make-out and didn’t understand how they could be so careless of her feelings. When Ciara tried to talk to Lindsay about her feelings, the Hubb House owner stonewalled her and hid in a shack. Hopefully, Ciara and Lindsay will make amends this season. To quote Summer House star Kyle, “Summer should be fun!”
