Following the Summer House season 6 finale where Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke get married, Amanda shared an Instagram story that fans are roasting her over. Amanda and Kyle’s relationship had a rocky start and continued to be throughout all their Summer House seasons. Kyle introduced Amanda as a casual hookup in season 1 but after going back and forth, he decided he would be a fool to let her go. They became an official couple and Amanda became a Summer House cast member.
Kyle proposed to Amanda in Summer House season 4 and season 6 showed the couple scrambling to put together last-minute details of their wedding. They were originally supposed to get married in 2020 but had to put their wedding off due to COVID-19. Kyle and Amanda finally decided to complete their nuptials at Amanda’s parents' house in New Jersey among family and friends. Summer House season 6 captured their special moment, after a season of stressful planning.
Fans were confused about a recent Instagram story shared by Amanda following the airing of their wedding and took to Reddit to discuss it. The Summer House star had written a long note to fans, which started off with, “Tonight we get to relive our wedding day and share the best day of our life with all of you and I think that’s pretty freaking awesome. Over the past 6 years, I’ve been entertained and humored by some of the outrageousness and far fetched theories, speculations and bets on our relation and marriage.” Amanda is most likely referring to Summer House fans who believe her and Kyle’s marriage wouldn’t work out, due to his shady past. One Reddit fan wrote, “It’s very much giving teenage girl throwing a tantrum to defend her relationship with her shifty older boyfriend.”

Amanda went on to say that she was “touched” by those who stood by her and Kyle through their struggles. However, she lost fans when she ended her story with, “It hasn’t been easy but we’ve shared our entire relationship with you - the ups and downs, the good and bad, the happy and sad, and how our wedding - so for that you are welcome.” One fan wrote, “And that’s where she lost me lmao.” Many Summer House viewers slammed Amanda for saying the theories out there were outrageous when she and Kyle have been struggling in their relationship for years.
Summer House fans felt Amanda was being unnecessarily defensive when she and Kyle had put their relationship on a reality television show for the world to see. Many commended Kyle for taking the high road and showing humility by acknowledging his and Amanda’s flaws. Summer House fans are still rooting for Kyle and Amanda to work but the Loverboy graphic designer’s latest rant may have alienated Kymanda’s biggest supporters.
