A new promotional clip teases the upcoming ending of Suits and the beginning of Gina Torres' spinoff series titled Pearson. Next month, the budding legal drama franchise created by Aaron Korsh will be expanding to Chicago as it closes out the story in New York City. With only ten episodes left for Harvey (Gabriel Macht), Louis (Rick Hoffman), and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) over at the Big Apple, their former boss is starting a new career journey in the Windy City where she enters the political arena.

Torres left Suits in season 7, ending her stint as a main cast member in the show. However, she has continued to pop in every so often just to check in on her former co-workers. Fans haven't heard much about what she's been up to in Chicago, but as her offshoot series Pearson begins in a few weeks, the public will finally know what's keeping her occupied. Meanwhile, after a rocky past year, the folks over at Specter Litt Wheeler Williams can't seem to catch a break as another storm heads their way threatening the firm seen in a new trailer.

Posted on Suits' official Instagram account is a short clip teasing fans of the show's return for its ninth and final season. Sadly, Havey and the rest of his allies are looking to diffuse another crisis. As the promo highlights the series' nearing end, it also hypes up fans for the beginning of Pearson. Brilliantly linking the two shows with Harvey reconnecting with his longtime mentor, the clip takes viewers to Chicago as Jessica gets involved with the dirty and dangerous world of politics.

Aside from more cross-promotions involving Suits and Pearson, since they exist in the same reality, it's safe to say that Jessica will return to New York for one final hurrah with her original crew. Early this month, it was revealed that Patrick J. Adams will reprise his role as Mike for one episode only. The actor left Suits at the end of season 7 alongside Meghan Markle (Rachel), who was set to join the British Royal Family at that time by marrying Prince Harry. In the show, the fan-favorite couple moved to Seattle to start a new life as a married couple. There's very slim chance that Markle will appear in Suits' final year, but it's clear that Korsh and his team are trying to bring back every single key player in the show's nine-year run, hence Adams coming back, and potentially Torres as well.

Based on the recent trailer, it looks like Harvey is going to be more involved with Jessica's issues in Chicago. New York's top closer has actually appeared in Pearson's backdoor pilot when he was forced to help his ex-boss navigate a major hurdle, resulting in her joining the mayor's legal team. Considering that the thread linking the two shows continues to be Harvey, it's curious if this is a set-up for what could be his eventual move to the spinoff series once the main show wraps up. It would be interesting to see the power duo to in a different legal environment, but considering how well they work together, this is an idea that fans can definitely get behind on.
