Warning: contains major spoilers for Suicide Squad: King Shark #5!

DC's King Shark has been stealing hearts since his cinematic debut in The Suicide Squad, but in his latest comic issue he'll be stealing even more. Suicide Squad: King Shark #5 just revealed what baby King Shark looks like and he couldn't be more adorable. Fans love King Shark already, but now there are even more reasons to cheer for him.

King Shark, also known by his actual name Nanaue, is the son of Chandrakha, a powerful shark deity. As many fans know, Amanda Waller made a deal with this deity. King Shark became part of the Suicide Squad because she raised him in her facility and in exchange, Nanaue could go home for visits. Thus far, Chandrakha seems to have made a deal involving his son and his priestess, King Shark's mother (Kaikea). Now, King Shark has returned home for the Wild Games where he must prove he is a worthy son and better than every other representative of the animal kingdom.

Suicide Squad: King Shark #5 has the creative team of Tim Seeley, Scott Kolins, John Kalisz, and Wes Abbott. This issue continues King Shark's participation in the Wild Games - a tournament in which he has taken a significant lead. His ferocity in battle is now unmatched, but one of the show-stealers here is the photograph of King Shark as a baby - revealing just how adorable this fearsome fighter was when he was young.

The photo of King Shark is visible in a cave, where Chondrakha takes on a humanoid avatar while comforting Kaikea. This is the form he first took when he met her. While Chondrakha has seemed rather harsh on his son, it seems he may actually have a large soft spot for the youth. He delivers tough love, but he knows what his son is capable of - even if King Shark previously hadn't. The god of sharks may have a rough exterior, but he has just as many emotional pressure points as anyone else does - and Waller knows how to poke them all. Later in the issue, Waller is shown taking away a crying, young King Shark - a heartbreaking sight that could make anyone despise her actions and methodology.

Within his baby picture, King Shark can be seen holding his mother's hand - the hand which she lost long ago. He is regularly depicted wearing shorts or tattered pants, which is apparently something he has always done. King Shark has on a pair of patterned shorts in his photo, showing that his style is something he has been consistent about since he was young. Sharks are often depicted as powerful creatures to be feared, but King Shark always has a tendency to come across as more lovable - even if his latest adventures have shown his fiercer side. He may be able to win the Wild Games, but as he grows stronger and tougher, sneak peeks at his childhood like this just go to show that The Suicide Squad’s King Shark will always be a lovable rogue with a rough upbringing.
