Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will introduce Rocksteady's take on several DC characters, including Justice League members such as Wonder Woman. The game will revolve around Amanda Waller's Task Force X being deployed to stop an invasion by the Superman foe Brainiac, who has brainwashed several Justice League members to do his bidding. One hero who doesn't seem to be brainwashed, however, is Wonder Woman, who can be seen fighting a mind-controlled Superman in one of the game's trailers.

Unlike her brainwashed Justice League members like Flash or Batman - who have Suicide Squad: KTJL trailers focusing on them - Wonder Woman has been glimpsed only briefly fighting both Task Force X and her Justice League allies. Therefore, little is known about this take on the character. Regarding why she seems to be immune to Brainiac's mind control, there are different elements from Wonder Woman's 82-year history that Rocksteady could be taking inspiration from when building its lore.

Sight Of Athena Could Make Wonder Woman Immune To Brainiac's Mind Control

Many know of Wonder Woman's enhanced empathy, which grants her increased insight and the ability to detect others' emotions. This is a part of "The Sight of Athena", a gift bestowed upon Wonder Woman by Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. As well as this divine wisdom and empathy, The Sight of Athena also makes Wonder Woman immune to most forms of mind control. Although this does vary depending on which writer is adapting the character in the comics, it could explain how she seems to be resistant to Brainiac's villainous plans in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Could Tap Into Wonder Woman's Golden Age

In DC's Golden Age, Wonder Woman had a lot of additional psychic powers due to her creator William Moulton Marston's career as a psychologist and his interest in parapsychology. These abilities included extrasensory perception (ESP), astral projection, mental control over the electricity in her body, the Amazonian ability to turn brain energy into muscle power, and telepathy. The latter was somewhat limited without the use of a psychic radio, but she could still use it on occasion without aid. Later writers pretty much forgot about her other psychic powers, but for the most part, Wonder Woman kept her resistance to mind control.

Rocksteady could set its take apart from other modern iterations by bringing back some of these Golden Age abilities to help Task Force X in defeating Brainiac. These powers could also be the key to potentially saving some of the Justice League members, rather than killing them as instructed by Waller. In any case, with Rocksteady confirming a release date of May 26, 2023 on social media alongside Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's appearance at The 2022 Game Awards, it hopefully won't be too much longer before fans get a proper introduction to the Arkhamverse's take on the iconic DC heroine, what abilities she will have, and how she will assist in stopping Brainiac and the brainwashed Justice League in the game.
