The latest trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may suggest that there's more than one team trying to kill the Justice League. The core group, Task Force X, is comprised of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang after Amanda Waller came to Arkham Asylum to recruit them. That said, they won't be the only villains lurking around Metropolis in the game.

Rocksteady has already confirmed a number of heroes and villains for Suicide Squad, which includes characters like evil versions of The Flash, Green Lantern, and Superman. Although it's not known how long these evil superheroes have been running amock, it seems like Amanda Waller may have recruited another group of heroes before calling upon the likes of Harley Quinn and Deadshot. In the latest trailer for the game, Waller notes that the Squad is the "first assets to make it into Metropolis alive."

This obviously implies there were others that tried to counter Brainiac and the evil Justice League members. Of course, it's likely there were soldiers and some standard government groups that tried to step in and help, but there may be more to it than that. At the end of the new Suicide Squad trailer, it's revealed that Penguin is sulking about in Metropolis. Not only does he have no real reason to be here given he resides in Gotham, but he should've also been locked up after Arkham Knight.

The members of the Suicide Squad are also implanted with some sort of device that can be used to electrocute or explode the heads of the Squad. For some reason, Penguin also has one of these devices inside of him and Waller is able to electrocute him from a remote location. It's possible that all imprisoned criminals were implanted with one of these devices following the events of the Arkham trilogy, but that doesn't explain why Penguin is all the way in Metropolis or why he is running away from the Squad. The trailer can be viewed here on YouTube or below:

The Penguin may not be alone in Metropolis, either. It's possible that Poison Ivy may be alive in Suicide Squad, as a very brief glimpse at some giant vines and plants can be seen bursting out of the ground in the trailer. Ivy is yet another character that should not be in Metropolis because she's based out of Gotham City and she also died in Arkham Knight. On the off chance that she is somehow alive, it's possible Ivy and Penguin were part of another team that was recruited to kill the Justice League prior to the current group.

Given the pure power level of the evil Justice League members, it's possible some previous squads were killed off and the likes of Poison Ivy and Penguin went rogue. The new Suicide Squad trailer teases a lot of different things, but only barely scratches the surface. Not only could these two villains be potential allies, but this could also mean there are other nefarious DC icons that have yet to be revealed for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League - alive or dead.
