A new trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was shown at DC FanDome. The new Suicide Squad game trailer showcases the likes of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark in action against the likes of Superman, The Flash, and other DC characters. The Suicide Squad game is set in the Batman Arkham universe and will see the anti-heroes going toe to toe with corrupted versions of the Justice League, though it's unclear if Batman is part of that given the ending of Arkham Knight.

Prior to the new footage, developer Rocksteady began releasing teasers for the game. One teaser allowed fans to call Suicide Squad phone number. Amanda Waller would pick up to yell at the caller, assuming they were Harley Quinn. From there, fans could receive teaser text messages that teased characters and plot details. Now, the developer is done teasing and is ready to talk more about the upcoming Suicide Squad game.

During DC FanDome, Warner Bros. debuted a brand-new cinematic trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The new trailer appears to consist of cutscenes from the full game, as opposed to a pre-rendered CG trailer, and tees up the story. The likes of Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Superman, and The Flash will all appear in the game as antagonists. It also seems like Lex Luthor and The Penguin will make an appearance, meaning it's possible characters like the Joker could cameo in the Suicide Squad game via flashbacks or dream sequences. There's also a very brief glimpse at the Batmobile, possibly hinting at the return of Batman or one of the Batfamily members. Given the excess of blood and gore in the trailer, Rocksteady appears to be going for an M-rating in this game as well.

With both Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League set to release in 2022, DC fans should be spoiled with content. Although Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is loosely connected to Batman, this will be the first time in many years that DC has released a AAA game that doesn't prominently center around the Caped Crusader. Even in ensemble games like Injustice, Batman tends to be the protagonist, but Suicide Squad is putting the focus on the four villains.

Rocksteady has largely only ever worked on the Batman Arkham series, so it remains to be seen how the team will juggle the different playstyles of characters like Harley Quinn and Deadshot. It's unclear how many different DC heroes will appear in the game, but it has been confirmed that Superman will be a villain in Suicide Squad. There have been various nods to characters like Superman in the Arkham universe, but this will be the first time they actually make an appearance.
