Warning: SPOILERS for The Suicide Squad.

The Suicide Squad soundtrack is filled with top-tier songs, something viewers have come to expect from James Gunn movies nowadays. Right from the beginning, The Suicide Squad soundtrack opens up with multiple songs that sets the stage for the rip-roaring adventures viewers have embarked on, one that doesn't let up until the end when most of the characters have died and the villain has been defeated.

Thanks to the two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Gunn's films became synonymous with artistic music choices. The use of a thematic soundtrack made sense for his Marvel movies given the story behind each mixtape that the main character uses, but there was no reason he couldn't continue that stylistic choice with The Suicide Squad.

In addition to the original score composed by John Murphy, The Suicide Squad soundtrack contains songs from the likes of Johnny Cash, Kansas, and strangely, even Culture Abuse, a band that split up in 2020 due to sexual misconduct allegations against member Dave Kelling. Here's every song on The Suicide Squad soundtrack, including when they play in the film.

Sylvester Stallone as King Shark, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, David Dastmalchian as Polka Dot Man, and Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Starro Escape The Suicide Squad

"Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash - "Folsom Prison Blues" opens The Suicide Squad as the film shows Savant sitting in his cell in Belle Reve prison.

"People Who Died" by The Jim Carroll Band - "People Who Died" plays during the opening credits sequence, which is fitting considering it comes after most of Team 1 dies.

"Sucker's Prayer" by The Decemberists - The first time The Suicide Squad timeline rewinds to show Bloodsport being recruited by Amanda Waller, "Sucker's Prayer" plays.

"Whistle For The Choir" by The Fratellis - One of The Suicide Squad's strangest sequences is the Harley Quinn/Silvio Luna love montage, which is set to the song "Whistle For The Choir".

"Point of Know Return" by Kansas - "Point of Know Return" plays on the radio as Milton drives to the van up to the military checkpoint.

"Sola" by Jessie Reyez - As the team drives through Corto Maltese in the van at night, with King Shark looking out the window and Ratcatcher and Bloodsport having a discussion, "Sola" plays in the background.

"Can't Sleep" by K.Flay - "Can't Sleep" plays as the team enters the bar.

"Rain" by grandson and Jessie Reyez - Fittingly, as Peacemaker, Bloodsport, and Rick Flag are transferred in a military vehicle in the rain, the song "Rain" briefly plays.

"I Ain't Got Nobody" by Louis Prima, Keely Smith, Sam Butera & The Witnesses - Harley Quinn briefly sings "I Ain't Got Nobody" as she's being tortured. Then the real song plays as she escapes capture.

"Hey" by The Pixies - "Hey" plays as the core members of Task Force X slowly walk in the rain towards Jotunheim to destroy Project Starfish.

"So Busted" by Culture Abuse - After defeating Starro and brokering a deal with Amanda Waller, the remaining members of Task Force X depart Corto Maltese, with "So Busted" playing in the background.

"Oh No!!!" by grandson - "Oh No!!!" concludes as The Suicide Squad credits start playing.
