The theatrical cut of Suicide Squad lost some action scenes involving Ben Affleck's Batman. It has been nearly four years since Suicide Squad hit theaters, but audiences have yet to see the original vision of director David Ayer. Warner Bros. altered the edit of Suicide Squad through reshoots, and even though the final product made over $750 million worldwide, it was not well received.

Since WarnerMedia has agreed to let Zack Snyder release his cut of Justice League on HBO Max years after the studio version hit theaters, fans are now hoping David Ayer's Suicide Squad could get the same treatment. There are many differences between the "Ayer Cut" and the theatrical version of Suicide Squad, and the director has been fanning the flames of the movement by dropping new details. But now, a member of the film's stunt team has shed light on the potential for a bit more of Batman.

Ben Affleck returned as Batman for a few scenes in Suicide Squad, and his stunt double revealed some of their work was left on the cutting room floor. Richard Cetrone, who was Affleck's Batman double in Suicide Squad and other DC films, recently did an interview with Lady Falcon and spoke about Batman's role in Ayer's cut. Cetrone expressed his desire to see the Ayer Cut and then provided a quick tease of some extra Batman moments it could include:

There were some things. I did a little more with the car, like trying to get into the car, trying to get through the roof. So I did a little more. There would probably be a little more of Batman in there.

Ben Affleck as Batman in Suicide Squad

As it stands, Suicide Squad only features three scenes with Affleck's Batman and only two in the suit. He's included in the introduction for Will Smith's Deadshot, with the two fighting before Deadshot lets Batman detain him. The bigger sequence for Batman comes with the car scene Cetrone references, where Batman is involved with a high-speed chase to catch Joker and Harley Quinn. Although he starts in the Batmobile, the Dark Knight eventually winds up on top of Joker's car before the Clown Prince of Crime crashes it into the river.

The additional Batman scenes in Suicide Squad might be minimal at best, but a bit more of Batman in action will appease many if the Ayer Cut is released. Even if that doesn't happen, DC and Batfleck fans should get to see a lot more of him (and Cetrone doing the stunts) in 2021. There will be plenty of new Batman scenes in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and perhaps Cetrone will get to double for Batman again if any reshoots are needed. But, if the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad is released, then it now sounds like there's a chance Batman could have a slightly bigger part there too.
