A new behind-the-scenes video for The Suicide Squad teases Harley Quinn's secret mission in the upcoming film. Director James Gunn will make his DCEU debut this August with the follow-up to David Ayer's 2016 film Suicide Squad. Part sequel, part reboot, The Suicide Squad will see the return of Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, and Viola Davis as Harley Quinn, Rick Flag, and Amanda Waller, respectively. Jai Courtney is also returning as Captain Boomerang. Besides those four, Task Force X will be filled with entirely new members, including John Cena's Peacemaker, set to get his own HBO Max series, Idris Elba's Bloodsport, and Nathan Fillion's TDK.

The Suicide Squad will follow Task Force X to the island of Corto Maltese where they will be tasked with destroying a Nazi-era prison. Along the way, they'll encounter something known as Project Starfish, a Kaiju-like villain known as Starro the Conqueror in the comics. Naturally, not every member of Task Force X will make it out alive and Gunn has teased plenty of deaths in The Suicide Squad. One person likely safer than the rest is Harley, who will be on a mission of her own in the upcoming film, one that is teased in a new video.

While the video itself goes into how Gunn shot much of The Suicide Squad with practical effects, brief glimpses of Harley's mission can be seen in the clip. Beginning around the 1:20 mark, Robbie can be seen exiting a limousine in the red dress she has been sporting in many of the trailers. The red dress has yet to be tattered, though, and it's clear that this is the beginning of her journey on Corto Maltese. As the clip continues, Harley can be seen frolicking in a mansion and standing on the balcony in the arms of an unidentified man. Check out the full video below:

Harley's role in the new Task Force X has remained mysterious and audiences have been left to piece together her activities from the rest of the trailers that have been released. In The Suicide Squad's first trailer, Rick Flag can be seen leading members of Task Force X to rescue Harley. Unsurprisingly, Harley manages to escape on her own and she introduces herself to Bloodsport, indicating that this may be the first time she meets up with the titular team.

It's unclear if Harley's mission in the clip is connected to The Suicide Squad's main mission, but she will certainly be joining up with the rest of the team to help them take on Starro. Robbie has teased multiple costumes for Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad, so her red dress look won't be the only outfit the career criminal sports. How Harley will stack up against the rest of Task Force X in The Suicide Squad remains to be seen, but it will surely be a joy to watch as Robbie continues to infuse the character with her signature verve.
