The Suicide Squad star Mayling Ng says that fans should see the movie on the biggest screen possible. The actress, black belt martial artist and fitness champion stars as Mongal in James Gunn's upcoming reinterpretation of the team, premiering both in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6. The series is known for its mix of humor and intense violence, as well as a first film that left fans hoping for more than what they were given.

Building off of 2016's Suicide Squad, the sequel also features a government-run team of super villains, dubbed Task Force X, who are allowed out of their prison cells in exchange for working on missions deemed too deadly for the typical agent. Those who comply receive time off their sentences, those who do not are killed to cover the government's tracks. As writer/director on The Suicide Squad, Gunn worked to increase the action, develop the existing characters further, and increase the number of villains taking part in Task Force X.

Mayling Ng recently took to Twitter to praise The Suicide Squad after watching a screening of the film. In the tweet, Ng urged fans to watch it on the big screen if they can and praised Gunn specifically, calling him a "LEGEND". Check out Ng's full tweet, below:

With the changes Gunn brought to the sequel, The Suicide Squad may in fact be a movie best enjoyed on a big screen at the theater. The trailers have teased explosive action, huge fight scenes, a human sized shark eating people, and villains facing off against the gigantic alien starfish, Starro. On top of heightening the action in the sequel, Gunn brought on a massive cast of franchise newcomers to join fan-favorites like Viola Davis' Amanda Waller and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. This includes Idris Elba's Bloodsport, John Cena's Peacemaker, and Sylvester Stallone's King Shark, to name only a few.

Gunn has clearly set the pieces in place for a larger than life summer blockbuster. Those fortunate enough to have a theater opened for screenings and with health and safety guidelines in place may want to consider The Suicide Squad as the perfect excuse to venture back to the movies. If Mayling Ng is right, then this is a film that should be watched the way all great action movies were watched prior to the shutdowns - in a theater with a large screen, strong sound systems, and some delicious overpriced popcorn.
