The Suicide Squad's early fan favorite King Shark gets the crown he deserves in a new piece of fan art. Writer-director James Gunn is making the jump from the MCU to the DCEU with The Suicide Squad, the franchise's second attempt at bringing the villain/antihero team to the big screen. The latest film keeps a handful of characters from the 2016 Suicide Squad while introducing a plethora of new faces as they embark on another dangerous mission. Gunn has promised fans a bloody, profane adventure, and one where not every member of Task Force X will survive.

With a cast as large as The Suicide Squad's, there will be several colorful characters vying for fans' attention. Some have already begun to earn the admiration of fans, including King Shark. The DC Comics character has appeared in various projects over the years, most recently in the animated streaming series Harley Quinn. With The Suicide Squad, King Shark will make his live-action film debut. Steve Agee was initially reported to be playing King Shark, and while he did stand in for the character on set for CGI purposes, fans were pleasantly surprised to learn Sylvester Stallone is the one responsible for the character's voice.

With just two trailers under his belt, King Shark has become one of The Suicide Squad's many standouts. To celebrate, popular fan artist spdrmnkyxxiii gave the humanoid shark the perfect accessory to complete his look: A crown. In this new piece, King Shark has officially become, well, a king. Check it out down below.

King Shark's positioning in the piece is a callback to his appearance in the first Suicide Squad trailer, where he drew attention to himself during a briefing by pointing to his hand and saying, "Hand!" That little moment certainly endeared him to fans, which perhaps made up for all the carnage he created in the very same clip. Audiences have so far seen King Shark eat a solider and tear another one in half, and there are bound to be more gruesome kills ahead in The Suicide Squad.

Nevertheless, King Shark promises to be one of the highlights of the film, which also includes the likes of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Peacemaker (John Cena), and Bloodsport (Idris Elba). The Suicide Squad is currently slated for release in August, where fans will finally get to see the full extent of King Shark's shenanigans. Hopefully he's one of the lucky few to survive the action. It would be quite devastating to lose him.
