Margot Robbie teased fans that James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad will showcase a new side of Harley Quinn. The actress will join the movie panel tomorrow at DC FanDome to answer more burning questions about her character and the film. The renewed villainous gang is expected to be in attendance at DC FanDome.

Margot is making a quick comeback as the crazed criminal in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The movie will see the bunch of incarcerated supervillains reunite once again to wreak havoc. While Margot’s role in the sequel is still unknown, from what she hinted at, fans will get to see some new sides to her character in this film, vastly different from her first DCEU appearance as the Joker's girlfriend. Even her costumes are different from what we’ve seen in the previous movies, making Harley’s movie character more similar to her comic counterpart.

DC Comics posted a promo audio clip on Twitter, where Margot teases a new side of Harley that will be revealed in The Suicide Squad. The actress teases the new group dynamic and how it affects Harley.

"I always have such a ball playing Harley Quinn. Every time I've done it I learn new things about her and this movie is no different. When Harley is put in a group with different people or a different place you're going to see different aspects come out of her personality depending on how she feels about these people or the things she's doing. So you'll get to see new sides of Harley, again. She's in a new group of people, a big group of people. It's insane, as always."

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad

Margot echoes her words from an interview for Birds of Prey earlier this year, when she said, “You keep getting to meet her at different points in her life.” The Suicide Squad will be the third time Margot has portrayed the criminal Harley Quinn. The actress won accolades for her first appearance as Harley alongside Jared Leto’s Joker, which got the character a standalone film - Birds Of Prey.

Seeing a whole new side of Harley Quinn as she moves beyond being part of a dysfunctional relationship with the Joker was the primary focus of Birds Of Prey, so it will be interesting to see how the character continues to develop. Picking up with Harley as she meets a new team of villains will be a fun way to challenge some of the lessons she's learned in her previous two films.

It will also be interesting to see how Harley is different under the direction of James Gunn, known for infusing his films with comedy and complex emotional storylines for each of his characters. The Suicide Squad is one of the most highly anticipated movies in DCEU, explaining why it was given a 30-minute slot at the DC FanDome when many of the other panels are slightly shorter.
