Warner Bros. is moving Task Force X overseas as they plan to shoot Suicide Squad 2 in the UK this fall. WB continues to move forward with plans to get a sequel to Suicide Squad off the ground. Although the first film was critically panned, it was a huge box office force. Finishing with over $750 million worldwide, DC's villain team proved to be comprised of characters audiences liked and wanted to see more of.

Following the film's success, it only further made Will Smith (Deadshot) and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) two of the industry's biggest stars. They've since lined up a number of projects - or are in talks to do so - which has made finding time for Suicide Squad 2 a bit more challenging. It was previously reported that the sequel could film in October, and now we may know where.

Omega Underground, which previously reported the October start, is reaffirming that the Suicide Squad sequel production schedule remains unchanged, but that it will film in the UK. WB has a major studio there that has already been the home to a number of DC productions. This same studio is where Wonder Woman 2 is expected to film. If both movies do shoot overseas, Warner Bros. may be planning for Suicide Squad 2 to begin right as Wonder Woman 2 exits the facility.

Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad

The first movie was primarily filmed in Toronto, Canada back in 2015, so making the move to London will be a big switch. This could become more of a common practice for Warner Bros. too if they look to ramp up DC productions. Just like how Marvel Studios has continued to call Pinewood Studios Atlanta their home in recent years, WB could realistically have a revolving door of DC productions in London. They're not abandoning Pinewood Studios Toronto either, as that is where Shazam! is currently filming.

Plot details on Suicide Squad 2 have largely been kept under wraps, but the biggest rumor could also line up with why they're moving production overseas. There are reports of Dwayne Johnson making his debut as Black Adam in the sequel, but also that he is the MacGuffin that the Squad is tasked with capturing. Those details could point to an international adventure for the team, giving WB further reason to film in London and making it easier to potentially shoot Suicide Squad 2 on location in some instances. A mission like this would also free up any reason for the now assembled Justice League to interfere, leaving another threat in the hands of DC's bad guys.
