Joel Kinnaman's latest social media post seemingly reveals several stars from Suicide Squad regrouping to train for Suicide Squad 2. The early portions of 2018 have been busy for Warner Bros. and DC Films, and for good reason. Last year saw the hopeful DC film universe rise with Wonder Woman but fall with Justice League, and resulted in big changes coming. Walter Hamada recently was named as DC Films' new president and quickly moved to name directors for Flashpoint. Overall, the DC library will only expand by one film this year, but it is expected to be a busy production year for the universe.

One of the films expected to start filming later this year is Suicide Squad 2. The first installment of the franchise suffered terrible reviews, but the effects weren't seen at the box office. The sequel expects to see Warrior's Gavin O'Connor step up to write and direct, and will be centered around Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), and Joker (Jared Leto). Thanks to a new post from Rick Flagg actor Joel Kinnaman, some other members may now be confirmed - including one who appeared to be dead.

Joel Kinnaman took to Instagram to share a photo of him training with some of his fellow members of Task Force X. Joining Kinnaman in the gym were Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) and Jay Hernandez (El Diablo). His post doesn't explicitly say this is for Suicide Squad 2, but the group of them working out together makes for compelling evidence. See the photo for yourself below:

It isn't terribly surprising to see Kinnaman's chances of returning for the sequel looking good, and the same can be said for Courtney. Both were suitable in their roles, and Courtney even managed to win over some fans in the process. The surprising piece to the puzzle is Hernandez. Suicide Squad ends with El Diablo sacrificing himself to help stop Enchantress, and the movie didn't set up any threads for him to still be around. But, if this is a Task Force X training session, it may just be possible that they've found a way to bring the group's fiery member back.

Production on Suicide Squad 2 isn't expected to start untill the fall, so this is a very early start to training. This could mean that production may be moving up now under Hamada's leadership. However, the late production date may just as well indicate this is just three actors training together. The cast of Suicide Squad often spoke about how close they became over the course of filming, so this could be just that. That said, none of these actors have anything else on the docket besides reprising their DC villain roles. Only time will tell whether or not this is the start of them preparing for the sequel, but odds are that is exactly what this is.
