A new preview video shows that not only will The Suicide Squad panel at DC FanDome be fun, there will be some big reveals as well. Director James Gunn, who also took on writing duties for the sequel/reboot, has assembled a star-studded ensemble cast. Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) will all reprise their roles from David Ayer's 2016 Suicide Squad. However, they'll be joined by Idris Elba, John Cena, Storm Reid, Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, Sean Gunn, and Michael Rooker, all in as yet unconfirmed roles.

Gunn was hired to helm the movie following his dismissal from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as the result of some old controversial tweets. When he was hired back later, Gunn had already signed on to The Suicide Squad, thus delaying production on the Marvel movie. Aside from a logo, which was recently revealed, very little information is available on The Suicide Squad. None of the new actors have disclosed their roles, despite some hints in previous videos, and there have been no images or footage released yet.

However, that's all set to change next week at DC FanDome. Gunn has released a teaser video for the movie's panel at the one-day event. The 30-second teaser shows the core cast will all be appearing, with Gunn moderating the panel by playing some games. The most important information, though, is contained in the caption, where Gunn confirms there will be a sneak preview of The Suicide Squad and suggests that new characters will be revealed. You can watch the teaser below.

Though the caption is likely intentionally vague, given that the movie is set to be released less than a year from now, it would make sense to reveal the first footage and character details at DC FanDome. It would effectively build excitement for the movie, especially since film updates have been so scarce lately in Hollywood. As a number of movies, including Wonder Woman 1984 and the Snyder Cut of Justice League are due to release sneak previews, next Saturday is going to be packed with news.

DC is clearly hoping The Suicide Squad is going to cause a stir, given they've set aside a full half hour for the movie, as opposed to 15 minutes for Black Adam and just 10 minutes for The Flash. The presence of so much of the cast and the director on the panel also illustrates DC is making the movie a focus of the event. All of which means that, in a week's time, fans will finally get a taste of what to expect from The Suicide Squad. After months of speculation over which DC characters will appear and just what tone Gunn has chosen for the movie, audiences will finally be able to get some solid answers.
