A new video from The Suicide Squad reveals Sean Gunn plays the obscure Batman villain, Calendar Man. James Gunn's upcoming DC Extended Universe movie features a huge ensemble playing mostly unknown DC villains. While audiences are now familiar with Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), and others because of 2016's Suicide Squad, there will be nearly a dozen new characters for viewers to meet in The Suicide Squad.

The lineup for James Gunn's DCEU film is filled with characters that general audiences and even some DC fans are completely unaware of. Peacemaker (John Cena) and Bloodsport (Idris Elba) lead the way in terms of the new characters with the most star power behind them, while King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and Ratcatcher 2 round out the film's main team of villains. But, there are also plenty of relatively unknown villains like Mongal, TDK, Blackguard, Weasel, and so on, set to appear. It was thought that the full list of DC villains for The Suicide Squad was known, but a new video shows otherwise.

The official Twitter account for The Suicide Squad shared a new behind-the-scenes featurette that showcased the various characters the movie includes. This brought the surprising reveal that Sean Gunn, James' brother, has a second role in the movie that was previously a secret. In addition to playing Weasel, the Suicide Squad 2 video shows Sean Gunn as Calendar Man. As seen below, Calendar Man is shown as a prisoner in Belle Reve with a bald head and tattoos around his cranium for each month.

Calendar Man tanunting Polka-Dot man in The Suicide Squad

The character of Calendar Man, also known as Julian Day, has a history in DC Comics going all the way back to 1958 when he appeared in Detective Comics #259. Calendar Man is best known for his role in the iconic Batman storyline, The Long Halloween. In this story, Gotham is plagued by a mysterious holiday killer, and only Calendar Man knows the identity of the individual. Day helps Batman by giving him various clues while he remains incarcerated in Arkham Asylum.

Now that The Suicide Squad has revealed an appearance by Calendar Man, fans will be left to speculate how big of a role he will have. It is most likely that Sean Gunn's role here will not be too significant considering his other role doing the motion-capture for Weasel. But, just as James Gunn gave Sean a smaller human role as Kraglin in Guardians of the Galaxy while he did Rocket's mo-cap, perhaps the role of Calendar Man will grow into something more substantial if James makes a sequel to The Suicide Squad. Or, perhaps Calendar Man will meet an unfortunate and gruesome end in this lone appearance.
