But the main thrust of Succession season 4's story will continue to be the overarching power struggle after Logan decided to make a deal with Mattson — and convince his ex-wife to change their divorce agreement — that cuts out his children, including both Roman and Shiv, out of WayStar's future. The family created battle lines, with Logan, Tom, Greg, and Gerri on one side and the four Roy siblings on the other.
Succession had always been a story of who will succeed Logan, and while that may still be the case going forward to a degree, it'll now have to examine if any of them still can, and how that may be. As for individual stories, Logan will have to find his place in the world without the business that was his life. Tom left Shiv after she beat him down for a long time. Gerri turned her back on Roman and Kendall is barely hanging on as he loses control of his life. It is time to see where the family ends up.
