Adrien Brody has been cast in the third season of Succession and will have a guest appearance on the show. The HBO satirical drama, created by Jesse Armstrong, follows the members of the dysfunctional, immoral Roy family who are consistently at odds and fighting for power of their media conglomerate, Waystar RoyCo, which is led by founder and patriarch, Logan Roy. The Emmy-winning series is executive produced by Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, and it also stars Jeremy Strong, Matthew Macfadyen, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Nicholas Braun, and Alan Ruck.

Deadline now reports that Brody will join the show as a guest star, playing the character of Josh Aaronson, who will have an active role in the continuing war for Waystar RoyCo as a billionaire activist investor. Brody is an Oscar-winning actor and has had long, successful career in film and television. He is best known for his roles in Midnight in Paris, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Houdini, and Peaky Blinders. Aside from Succession, Brody will next be seen in Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch, the Marilyn Monroe biographical Netflix film Blonde, and as Pat Riley in an HBO limited series about the LA Lakers in the 1980s, which is also developed by McKay.

When Succession last left off in the second season finale, Logan Roy was pitted against his son Kendall, played by Strong, after being blamed by him for a scandal involving the company. Based on the sly smile appearing on Logan Roy's face as the last shot, it appears that the third season will turn into a severe public battle unlike any that the Roy family has been through before. With Brody only guest starring in the show, it will be exciting to see how his character affects the course of the upcoming season and what part he will play in the family battle.
