It's a good week to be a fan of Mortal Kombat, Twenty four hours after we got our first look at Kevin Tancharoen's Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series in motion picture form, we're getting a sneak peek at fan-favorite ninja assassin Sub-Zero.

Kevan Ohtsji portrays the iconic Lin Kuei warrior and  there's no denying that the Sub-Zero design should please both fans of the original game mythology as well as Tancharoen’s Mortal Kombat: Rebirth shortfilm.

Tancharoen has once again taken to his Twitter feed to offer fans a glimpse at what to expect from the web series - which debuts over at Machinima on April 12th. For the past several weeks the director has been offering up one intriguing still after another - showing off final designs for Scorpion as well as Baraka and other "Kombatants."

However, this time Tancharoen may be providing his most enticing, not to mention revealing, sneak peek yet - as Sub-Zero prepares for Mortal Kombat.

Sub Zero Mortal Kombat Legacy

Out of everything we've seen from  Mortal Kombat: Legacy so far - the Sub-Zero design does a good job of balancing the gritty real world that Tancharoen established in the Rebirth trailer with the necessary fantasy elements required to properly service a multi-realm fantasy story that features mutants, damned souls, and elder Gods.

The costume itself is a great blend of Sub-Zero's iconic blue outfit - mixed with some cool leather and fur accessories to keep him Toasty! (only die-hard MK fans will get that one) in the frigid climate portrayed in the image. Even if the cold-weather-warrior doesn't actually need the extra warmth, the textures add a grounded real-world feel to the character that, despite the fact he's probably about to blast his opponent with a ball of magical ice, make Sub-Zero look like an actual person that's fighting his way through the world - not just a cartoonish video game character.

It may not be the fantasy-heavy design from Rebirth - but there's no doubt Tancharoen's Sub-Zero is much cooler looking than the character in Mortal Kombat 3.
