Once upon a time, Disney would only have female characters as damsels in distress. For a while, they would need princes to do the fighting for them. The Sleeping Beauties and the Little Mermaids of the world weren’t exactly all-powerful. However, modern shows like The Owl House and Amphibia have given little girls some powerful role models.

That’s meant quite literally. These girls reach power levels that would surprise most people who dismissed the shows as “for children”. These incredible feats of strength, from physical prowess to magical dominance, are super fun to watch.

Myst (Ghostforce)

Liv Baker from Ghostforce

Liv Baker is a student at the creatively named NYC School in New York City. Although a typical student with a passion for music, she does have a secret. She’s the superheroine known as Myst, and with her ectocap, she stops the paranormal threats that plague the city as part of Ghostforce.

As Myst, she gains the ability to fly and phase through objects. Not only that, her pet ghost Octocat lets her create portals that she can use to travel vast distances. While they are a huge drain on her, they have proved incredibly versatile in fights, especially when faced with opponents they can’t beat conventionally.

Go Go Tomago (Big Hero 6)

Go Go Tomago in her supersuit in Big Hero 6

Go Go Tomago was one of the many gifted mechanical engineers working at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. After the death of her friend Tadashi Hamada, she decided to join the superhero team Big Hero 6. Her gimmick is a pair of magnetic discs that she uses for mobility and combat.

With them, Go Go dodges blasts of electricity, keep pace with bullet trains, and casually kick away projectiles. Her disks are also powerful, being able to cut through enemy robots with ease, and with momentum, capable of knocking over titanium armored mooks that weigh several tons.

Kim Possible

Kim Possible is your basic average girl, except not really. She’s one of the most extraordinary girls in Disney’s animated history. It all started with a website where Kim did mundane chores, but over time, Kim found she had a knack for the crime-fighting business.

Kim Possible is a well above peak human physicality, capable of sending grown men (enhanced with steroids) flying several feet in the air with her punches, throws, and kicks. She’s also fast enough to keep pace with a speeding car. By all accounts, Kim Possible is superhuman, and it’s just never acknowledged. Admittedly, it adds to the show’s charm.

Miraculous Ladybug

Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir on a rooftop in Paris

Marinette Dupain-Cheng was once an average teenage girl, concerned with fashion and what her friends will be doing over the weekend. However, through the power of “miraculous” (jewelry that holds shards of powerful cosmic beings known as kwami), she turns into the Miraculous Ladybug, one of Paris’ most iconic superheroes.

Her miraculous pair of beautiful earrings houses the cosmic entity Tikki, the kwami of creation. It gives her access to some incredibly versatile tools that provide her with everything she might need to win a seemingly unwinnable situation. However, her signature move, Miraculous Ladybug, can revert things to their original state and is her most powerful move. Anything that messes with time is inherently powerful when used properly.

Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars Rebels.

Ahsoka Tano is the former Padawan of the legendary Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker. Naturally gifted, the skills taught to her by various masters made her the last of a dying breed of Jedi. Through her, the teachings, strength, and skill of the Order remain alive. As Ahsoka matured, she’s become a Jedi that holds her own against Darth Vader by the time Rebels rolls around.

Her attunement to the force is also impressive, being able to crush droids with ease using it. Her speed also can’t be underestimated, able to slice through a row of super battle droids before they even have time to slide down the floor in a metallic mass. Lastly, the fact that she’s got a lightsaber makes her a threat to pretty much all living things.

Eda Clawthorne (Owl House)

Eda Clawthrone is a troublemaking witch who was notorious in her home of the Boiling Isles. Her rebellious spirit led her to study several fields of magic, many banned by the community. Out of fear, her sister cursed her to become an owl beast, and she became an exile. Still, she retained her intelligence and creativity.

She’s capable of spells that many in her Coven have barely even mastered. Portals, transfiguration, energy blasts, sleep charms, and constructs galore are in her mind. Her curse also means she can be dismembered with no ill effects (other than mild pain). Her versatility with magic and durability make her a formidable witch. Most times, anybody with no magic resistance would just have the sleep spell cast on them and the ball’s in Eda’s court.

Rapunzel

Rapunzel lassoing her hair

Although most people might only remember her from the movie, the underrated Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure series shows off a much more powerful side to the princess. Here, her hair loses its healing properties. In exchange, it becomes nigh invulnerable, and Rapunzel gains full control of it. She’s essentially become Bayonetta, but with significantly less sass.

Her hair is invulnerable, with buzzsaws, lava, and enchanted swords proving ineffective in doing any damage to it. Rapunzel doesn't even have to actively shield herself. The hair does it for her. While Rapunzel has no combat experience, the sheer toughness and unorthodox nature of her hair make her practically invulnerable. Magic won’t work either, as her hair prevents mind spells from affecting her. At her peak, Rapunzel is invulnerable, only limited by her inexperience.

Titania (Gargoyles)

Titania and Oberon Gargoyles

Titania is a member of the ancient and powerful Third Race and is Queen alongside her ex-husband Oberon. Oberon is one of the biggest threats the Gargoyles ever faced, and his physical strength and sorcery. The creators have come out and said he is the second most powerful being in the series.

There is only one person who beat him by themselves. That person is Titania. While her physical abilities are on par with Oberon, it’s her combination of magic and science that makes her a threat. Titania is the only person, besides Queen Mab, who is a threat to Oberon, all by herself. That alone implies how vast her power can get.

Anne Boonchuy (Amphibia)

Calamity Anne in Amphibia

Anne Boonchuy was a typical teen living in LA with her loving family until she steals a simple music box. Upon opening it, they find themselves peering into the world of Amphibia. She becomes spiritually linked to the magical stone known as the heart and gains incredible physical and spiritual powers.

When she undergoes intense emotional distress, she taps into the latent powers in her stone. The energy within turns her into Calamity Anne, which greatly enhances everything about her. Shockwaves burst from her when she flies around and even manipulates energy to a destructive effect. As far as physical potential goes, few other characters in Disney canon could match up.

Star Butterfly

Star Butterfly in Star Vs

Star Butterfly of Mewni is a princess from another dimension who was sent to Earth to learn how to control her magic wand. Even as early as Season 1, Star is a casual reality warper, able to summon rainbows, sugar, and all manner of girly objects at will. As the series grew more serious, so did Star’s potential for dimension-destroying magic.

Ironically, Star’s greatest asset is also her greatest weakness. She isn’t the brightest wand in the closet, but that means she achieves so many things with magic that others deem impossible. Simply because she didn’t think they were impossible in the first place. She’s unskilled, but her natural aptitude for magic means she’s still more powerful than everybody else. While Star could be outsmarted, in terms of raw power, she is one of the most powerful in Disney history.
