Fans excited for Street Fighter 6 have received a gameplay trailer offering a deeper look into the new 2D fighter's gameplay as well as a look at Guile, a classic fighter from the series making their return. The world-famous fighting game franchise announced its sixth major entry in February, but it wasn't until last week's PlayStation State of Play that fans got to see the game. However, leaks have released more information about SF6 than Capcom originally planned to reveal at this stage of the game's marketing.

Days after the game's State of Play trailer impressed fans with Street Fighter's current-gen debut, leaks were released online. The leaks included concept art for Street Fighter 6's roster and Cammy fighting Ken in beta gameplay footage. Developers confirmed the leaks were real and expressed gratitude for fans' positive reactions towards what was seen. Fans have also spotted a few new characters for the franchise in last week's trailer, which was only the start of what Summer Game Fest had in store for Street Fighter fans.

New gameplay from Summer Game Fest 2022 showed off Street Fighter 6's new version of Guile, the Sonic Boom wielding Air Force Major who has been a main character of the franchise since Street Fighter II. During the event and later shared to the Street Fighter YouTube channel, Guile made their Street Fighter 6 debut with gameplay showing off the classic Street Fighter character's new look and impressive hairdo. More information on the character's updated movesets was released on the PlayStation Blog. The game's beauty was in full display with Guile's colorful attacks demonstrated in Street Fighter 6's new rendition of the Air Base stage.

The upcoming Street Fighter 6 welcomes Guile into its growing roster of playable characters. Many playable characters have shown off new and improved designs in the recently-released trailers. Both Chun-Li and Ryu's new designs showed that fan-favorite characters will look outstanding with Capcom's new game engine that helped create stunning titles like Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil Village. After Street Fighter 5's release, an alternate Ryu costume gave him a stylish beard which grew into the "Hot Ryu" meme, a look the Street Fighter 6 is leaning harder into.

Thanks to the recent leaks, fans have a good idea of what characters will be in the new Street Fighter 6. Guile is joining fifteen classic characters from the series returning for the new game. Thanks to the aforementioned leak, it seems there are seven new fighters coming to the game, making SF6's roster a total of 22 playable fighters at launch. More information about Street Fighter 6 and its cast will be revealed before the game officially releases sometime in 2023.
