As the fans patiently await the release of the highly anticipated first part of season 4 of Stranger Things on May 27th, the show's trailer and first look have gotten huge responses. While season 4 sneaks into life after the jaw-dropping season 3 ending, it also graces the new "big baddie" and a lot of other supernatural elements. Stranger Things, created by the Duffer brothers, is popularly adored for its unique portrayal of its 80's vibe-supernatural storyline. The plot is nothing like those seen before, from mind-bending powers to paranormal activities to monstrous creatures.

On the other hand, the story involves many subplots of unique relationships between individual characters and their character growth. While Mike and Eleven may snag the most mature and lovable relationship in the story, there are few characters whose pairing up was oddly underrated and deserved more than just a sneak peek.

Mike And Will

Mike Wheeler and Will Byers Stranger Things Season 4

Mike's best friend, Will Byers, was the first unfortunate victim who mysteriously disappeared only to be found stuck in the Upside Down world. The two boys have been best friends for a long time and are big fanatics of D&D. Season 1 showed the intense friendship between these two, but as the series' plotline evolved, theirs lost its focus.

Considering they both have complex characteristics and family and personal issues, they seem more similar in their journeys. Unlike the bonds between Lucas and Dustin, Mike and Will have not been much in focus since season 1, and it may deserve a little more screentime in the new seasons.

Mike And Nancy

One of the ultimate sibling duos yet, as seen, Nancy and Mike don't get involved much in each other's lives. In seasons 1 and 2, Nancy accepts and supports Mike's relationship with Eleven and even helps him. Despite their 'not-so-overly attached' relationship, they both support and understand each other.

As most parts of their relationship were shown in season 1 specifically, this relationship seemed to falter onscreen over the series' progress. Having them as a strong sibling pair may even prove as an added point against the baddie of the Upside Down world.

Eleven and Max

The dynamics between these girls are fascinating and complicated. The only two girls amongst the four boys; it would be obvious to pitch them as best friends, but the storyline speaks something else. While both have their own complexities, they still are an integral part of the gang and fight together against the Mind Flayer.

Their short bond of "girls' fun" was stinted in season 3 after Eleven's breakup as Max tries to normalize her life after El's breakup. Although, their relationship is not much spoken about unless the situation demands it. The viewers would love to see these two's dynamics grow more from jealousy and misunderstandings to true friendship.

Dustin and Erica

Friends by chance, the relationship between Lucas' little sister and Dustin is comedic gold. They have a sarcastic and friendly relationship mirroring that of siblings. The 'best' customer of Scoops Ahoy becomes a part of the 'The Scoop Troop' as they start investigating the hideout under the mall.

While Erica condescends to Dustin's capabilities, Dustin sees her as an annoying girl. Erica's sarcasm and Dustin's naive nature perfectly complements their character trait. Their bickering is pure comedy and gives the much-needed funny and comical relief needed in the intense show. Fans have loved these two along with Steve and Robin and anticipating more of them in season 4.

Murray And Hopper

Hopper And Murray In Stranger Things Season 3

Murray and Hopper were old friends and knew each other long before the turmoil in Hawkins. Hopper turns to Murray in Season 3 when he remembers Murray as the only one to speak Russian.

Throughout the show, Murray cements himself as a vital part of the group. He even helps Joyce to the best of his abilities to save Hopper. Season 4 seems to cast Murray as a regular, making fans hope to see more of his involvement in the fight along with Joyce and Hopper while flexing his investigative skills.

Robin And Nancy

Nancy and Robin at Pennhurst in Stranger Things season 4

The most unlikely duo paired would be the young women of the show. Nancy and Robin are exceedingly alike; they are both fighters and strong-willed and added, and both their storyline involve Steve. The two young women of the show hopefully meet each other soon as they can be a powerful duo.

With Robin's street-smart skills and Nancy's detective skills, these girls can lead against any fight. While the trailer of season 4 does show some footage of these two together, it would be exciting to see them bond with each other as friends rather than merely defeating the Upside Down monster Vecna.

Dustin And Suzie

Another fan favorite and the surprising couple would be the camp sweethearts. While season 3 showed a minor glimpse of Dustin's camp girlfriend, their brief moment was sweet and funny. They seem to understand each other quite well and bring out the best in each other.

Their relationship definitely could be explored more in the upcoming season. And while their relationship needs more screen time, the rendition of 'The NeverEnding Story' still wins hearts.

Joyce And Hopper

The complex parent couples that deserve more definitely are Joyce and Hopper. While fans rooted for their relationship to blossom from more than friends over the seasons, it sadly hasn't happened yet. They have an amicable relationship and a strong friendship and genuinely understand each other.

Both the characters have had a pretty rough journey in Hawkins while struggling to keep their family safe. They haven't had much luck with love as well over the seasons; hopefully, season 4 answers fans' expectations and more screentime for their relationship.

Eleven And Will

The connection between these two goes way back to season 1. Both were involved directly with the Upside Down world and were made vulnerable in the due course cause of their experiences. While the entire gang considers Eleven a close friend and treats her well, Will and El seemingly understand each other better cause of their past traumas.

The ending of season 3 even sees El moving in with Will and his family and eventually moving out of Hawkins with them. The growth in their relationship now that they live under the same roof could be unchartered territory. And hopefully, Season 4 shows both these characters helping each other out to move on from their past tragedies.

Hopper And Eleven

The most unusual pair yet the most heart-tugging relationship onscreen, the father-daughter duo is everything but simple. Stranger Things storyline dwells both as complex characters who have yet to understand how to express emotions to each other.

Despite their fiddly start, the end of season 3 established their deep bond and how much they care for each other. From their quirky bond over 'Eggos' to them being vulnerable to each other, this relationship surely needs more screentime. With the new season almost out, it is exciting to hope for more of this connection and the characters.
