The young cast of Stranger Things pays homage to Star Wars this Halloween by dressing up as some of the most iconic characters from the space opera. With over 40 years of history, there are countless key roles (whether in Legends or in the current canon) in the famed saga, so it's no wonder the franchise is one of the most popular inspirations for cosplaying.
Due to its popularity, the characters of Stranger Things have also become staple Halloween costume inspirations. But for the young cast of the show, dressing up as their characters doesn't really do the trick. Instead, most of them opt to dress as other cinema and pop culture icons for their own costumes for this year's trick or treat event.
Netflix's official Twitter account recently shared an image of the kids of Stranger Things sporting their Halloween costumes, and by the looks of it, it's safe to say that most of them are fans of the famed franchise set in a galaxy far, far away. Dressing up as iconic Star Wars characters are Millie Bobby Brown as young Princess Leia, Gaten Matarazzo as Han Solo and Sadie Sink as Rey. However, not everybody was on board with the space opera theme with Caleb McLaughlin opting to be Bob Marley, while Noah Schnapp hilariously channeled Eleven circa season 1 of their own series. Check out the image below:
It's not lost on a lot of fans how Brown actually resembles a young Carrie Fisher. Even before the young actress decided to dress up as the princess of Alderaan, many have already been pointing out how similar they look with several fan-made illustrations morphing her into character. At the height of the buzz from the confirmation that a young Han Solo film was in the works, there were people who floated the idea that Brown could play the titular role in case Lucasfilm decides to make a young Leia film. While there's no word about any other anthology movie from the space opera yet, one look at this Halloween photo could spark interest in studio executives to at least entertain the idea.
While fans wait on that possibility, Brown is tipped to reprise her popular small screen role in the third season of Stranger Things. No official release date has been announced just yet but fresh episodes are expected to drop by mid-2019 with principal photography supposedly wrapping up any time now. Plot details are still scant at the moment but the upcoming outing will pick up after a significant time jump, and audiences will be met by a more settled Jane Hopper living the life of a normal teen. As for the continuation of the Star Wars saga, director J.J. Abrams and the rest of the cast and crew are hard at work filming for Star Wars: Episode IX, which will hit theaters December of next year.
