Stranger Things star David Harbour comments on whether audiences can expect Hopper and Winona Ryder's Joyce to get married in season 5. First released on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things has since become one of the streamer's most popular shows. Having recently concluded season 4, the Duffer Brothers' hit horror/ fantasy show is gearing up for one final season, which promises to deliver an epic, action-packed, and emotional ending for the core group of heroes.

In a recent appearance at the Middle East Film & Comic Con (shared by @notFredric), Harbour addresses the future of his character's relationship with Joyce and whether Stranger Things season 5 will see the two tie the knot.

While neither confirming nor denying that a marriage will take place between the two reunited lovers, Harbour does express confidence that the Duffer Brothers will conclude their story in a satisfying manner. Check out Harbour's full comment below:

"I mean they kind of deserve each other. I think it would be ... I don't know, we will have to see where it goes. I mean, I think it will be a really fun season for the two of them based on what's gone before. The Duffers have a good way of paying off a lot of things that you want them to pay off. They usually stick the landing with a lot of things. So, I think they will with this relationship as well."

What Could Be Next For Hopper & Joyce In Stranger Things Season 5

Hopper and Joyce argue in Stranger Things

Season 3 saw Hopper and Joyce become much closer after Bob's (Sean Astin) tragic death in season 2. After the Stranger Things season 3 finale featured Hopper seemingly sacrificing himself (but actually ending up in a Soviet prison camp) to save Joyce and the others, Ryder's character spends most of season 4 trying to rescue him. The Stranger Things season 4 finale finally sees the two characters reunited and back on America soil.

Season 4 ends with a massive Upside Down incursion into the real world with Hawkins as the epicenter, paving the way for an epic showdown to come. With Stranger Things season 5 confirmed to pick up the story after a significant time jump, it's possible that Hopper and Joyce's relationship will be much further along than when season 4 ended. In fact, depending on how much time has gone by, Hopper and Joyce could already be engaged or married when the new season starts.

It's also possible, of course, that it won't be smooth sailing for Hopper and Joyce in Stranger Things season 5. Despite their obvious love for each other, the two do tend to argue a lot, and it might take a little TLC for the duo to really find their footing as a couple. Hopefully, after Hopper's death scare back in season 3, both Harbour's character and Joyce will live through the events of Stranger Things season 5 and enjoy a happy, satisfying ending.
