Warning! This post contains spoilers for Stranger Things season 4 volume 1

Behind-the-scenes photos from Netflix's Fear Street starring Sadie Sink have tricked fans into thinking that have seen spoilers for Stranger Things season 4. After propelling its young stars to immediate fame when it first launched back in 2016, Stranger Things now has audiences well and truly gripped with season 4 having become Netflix's most-watched English-language series, as many now await the series' dramatic conclusion which releases this Friday. Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Sadie Sink, Stranger Things follows the terrifying supernatural threats that appear to have cursed the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana.

Having delivered on their promise of the show's darkest season yet, Stranger Things' creators the Duffer Brothers have teased that there will be character deaths within the events of volume 2's final two episodes, with many now desperate to discover the fates of their favorite characters. Season 4 has so far seen a number of heartwrenching but equally heart-pounding moments, most notably in episode 4, which saw fan-favorite character Max (played by Sink) fight for survival after being possessed by this season's terrifying new monster, Vecna. Season 4 has featured a number of brutal deaths at the hands of Vecna, by which the victims have their bones snapped before their eyes are gouged out, therefore, when some old images of Sink began circulating, many fans were concerned they were spoilers.

Shared to Twitter by @StrangerNews11, a collection of images of Sink have been arranged together which, at first glance, appear to hint at Max's future within the remainder of Stranger Things season 4. The left two images show two BTS images from Stranger Things season 4, while the right two images are BTS photos from Fear Street Part 3: 1666. The BTS Fear Street images are incredibly reminiscent of the same horrifying fate that Vecna's victims meet, leading many to believe that the images proved Max will be one of season 4's casualties, however, the images are completely unrelated to Stranger Things. Fear Street dominated screens last summer with its three-part release, captivating audiences with its unique take on a number of horror subgenres. The series saw Sink star as Ziggy Berman, as well as her fellow Stranger Things co-star Maya Hawke who featured in a brief cameo that saw the star die within the first film's opening moments. Each film within the trilogy saw many of the actors portray different roles across three different time periods 1994, 1978, and 1666 as the story similarly followed a group of teens who sought to take down an evil force that had cursed their town.

With volume 2 now just days away, audiences are desperate for any sort of preview of the season's coming events, so it's clear to see why these images quickly gained so much traction. While this doesn't now provide any sort of confirmation that Max will survive season 4, the images certainly don't spoil anything that is yet to come. With recent teasers for Stranger Things season 4, volume 2 hinting that almost no one is safe, it's anyone's guess as to whether Max will have to face Vecna once again or whether Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" will return to save the day.
