New posters have dropped revealing some of the major locations from Stranger Things season 4. The series, which was created by The Duffer Brothers, premiered on Netflix in 2016. It follows a group of young people in Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s experiencing a variety of terrifying supernatural adventures that are inspired by the mainstream pop culture of the time including Amblin films and Dungeons & Dragons. The ever-expanding ensemble cast of Stranger Things now includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.

Stranger Things season 4 has been hotly anticipated, coming three years after the previous season. Although an official date hasn't been announced yet, it is expected sometime in mid-2022. This delay is largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which shut down production after it began in February 2020. Stranger Things season 4 will take place during Spring Break in 1986 as a new horror resurfaces that promises to connect everything while Hopper is still trapped in a Russian prison.

Today on Twitter, Netflix Geeked let out a slow drip of brand new posters for Stranger Things 4, displaying various locations from the new season. Each image is accompanied by a portentous caption and shows a character from the series gazing away from the camera at one of the locales, which are - of course - drenched in sickly red light. Those captions read as follows: "001. Russia. Getting the band back together. Bring a jacket." "002. The Lab. Every story starts somewhere." "003. Creel House. Tick-tock." and "004. California. Hold onto your butts, brochachos." Check out the full-size posters below:

All the posters bear the tagline "every ending has a beginning." The first shows Hopper and Joyce in the Russian prison, the second shows a sinister-looking ruined hallway in the lab from season 1, and the third shows the gang gathered at the haunted-looking Creel House. The fourth also shows off what looks to be the Californian location teased in previous Stranger Things season 4 trailers. Given how many locations the series is teasing, the Creel House might not be as central to the story as it was believed, but an early Stranger Things 4 teaser seemed to imply it was very important to the overall season.

Stranger Things 4 is one of the most anticipated Netflix shows of the year, and this curious slow-burn rollout of posters is certainly exciting for fans waiting for any information on the Netflix show. The way that each poster is numbered doesn't quite imply that it's counting down to something. However, the structure of these reveals certainly might lead one to believe that a big announcement is on the horizon.
