Each episode of Stranger Things season 4, volume 1 has been reimagined into a stunning horror-inspired film poster. Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp and Sadie Sink as its core gang of child heroes, Stranger Things tells the story of Hawkins, Indiana, a fictional town that has been the subject of a number of bizarre and terrifying supernatural occurrences. Each new season has seen the show gradually become darker, with season 4 having allowed the show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, to lean into a number of classic horror influences.

Stranger Things season 4 introduced a new release model for its streaming home Netflix, having released its first seven episodes on May 27, and with its final two instalments set to release this Friday, July 1. This brief gap has left audiences desperate to discover what happens over the finale Stranger Things episode 8 and 9 which, combined, make up an almost four-hour run time. After a number of horror-inspired moments and gory death scenes thanks to the Upside Down's new terrifying villain, Vecna, many viewers have praised the series for its new darker elements, which have now inspired some stunning new posters.

Stranger Things season 4 has so far contained a variety of exciting call-backs and references to the horror genre, most notably with the casting of horror legend Robert Englund as Victor Creel, who famously originated the role of the slasher icon Freddy Krueger. The season has also offered a handful of nods to other classics such as Carrie and Silence of the Lambs. As volume 2's release draws ever closer, anticipation is at an all-time high with various fake spoilers for Stranger Things appearing across social media as viewers await the season 4 finale.

These posters perfectly capture the nostalgic 80s vibe that draws audiences to Stranger Things time and time again, and offer a beautifully haunting representation of each of the episode's key moments. However, if Stranger Things season 4 continues to lean in to its horror inspirations, this may not bode well for the core cast. By typical horror movie rules, it is rare to see every member of the team survive. After a recent Netflix billboard emerged and appeared to taunt audiences about their concern for fan-favorite character Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), it remains to be seen what horrors Vecna has in store for Stranger Things next.
