Warning! Spoilers ahead for Stranger Things season 4.

A new Stranger Things behind-the-scenes video shows Eddie actor Joseph Quinn rehearsing Metallica's "Master of Puppets". After first hitting Netflix in 2016, the Duffer Brothers' hit horror/ fantasy show returned this past May with volume 1 of its supersized fourth season. Stranger Things season 4 sees the introduction of a new villain in the form of Jamie Campell Bower's Vecna and clearly establishes him as the most formidable foe Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Will (Noah Schnapp) and the others have faced yet.

In addition to Vecna, Stranger Things season 4 also introduces several other new characters to the mix, most notably Quinn's Eddie Munson. Eddie is the leader of the Hawkins High School's Dungeons & Dragons Hellfire Club but soon finds himself wanted by the authorities after Vecna brutally murders Chrissy (Grace Van Dien) in his trailer. The character spends much of the season on the run from the police and a vengeful school basketball team captain but finally gets his moment to shine in the Stranger Things season 4 finale. In an effort to distract Vecna, Eddie grabs a guitar and starts playing "Master of Puppets" by Metallica, a valiant effort that, much to the frustration of many fans, results in his death.

In a new behind-the-scenes video posted by Stranger Writers, the official Twitter account for the show's writer's room, Quinn is shown practicing the song with what appears to be Eddie's guitar. The actor, who is without his Eddie wig and costume, plays along to an actual recording of "Master of Puppets," demonstrating his serious guitar skills and some epic rocker poses. Although many actors who are not musicians would likely fake the season 4 guitar scene, it's clear that Quinn is more than capable of playing "Master of Puppets" for real. Quinn previously revealed to Screen Rant that his Stranger Things Metallica scene was his favorite moment on the show, and Metallica themselves even reacted to Eddie's big moment by playing along with him in their own video. While the decision ultimately leads to his heroic death, Eddie's epic rock moment has proven to be a highlight of the show's fourth season, with many praising what is described in the show as "the most metal concert in the history of the world."

Due to its 1980s time period, Stranger Things has revived interest in a number of hit songs from the era, including Kate Bush's "Running up that Hill." Due to the younger audience of the show, it's likely that many fans experienced "Master of Puppets" for the first time through Eddie's scene. Although Stranger Things' use of the Metallica song itself is cool, it's even cooler that Quinn put the time in to actually learn the song and make his final moments on the show as epic as possible.
