Fans of Stranger Things now have a new way to pass the time until the release of the show's fourth season thanks to the launch of the new mobile game, Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales. Players will be able to collect different variations of characters from the hit Netflix show, including Stranger Things' Eleven and Jim Hopper, while working through puzzle quests, mastering character abilities, and solving the mysteries of Hawkins.

Stranger Things is one of the biggest successes from Netflix, wowing viewers with its supernatural action and 1980s horror, but fans have been waiting a long time for the release of the show's fourth season. Stranger Things season three first launched in 2019, with Netflix recently confirming new episodes won't be available until 2022, but there's more than just the show planned for the future - especially for gamers. A new Stranger Things Secret Lair card expansion has been revealed for Magic the Gathering, while Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 6, the most recent addition to the beloved action series, will be getting Stranger Things DLC at some point in the future.

Those looking for an immediate new Stranger Things adventure may want to try out Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales. Available now for both iOS and Android devices, Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales is a free-to-play mobile adventure from Next Games and licensed by Netflix. Described as a story-driven puzzle role-playing game, players can expect to see Saturday morning cartoon-style graphics and 1980s influence throughout the release, which will feature iconic locations from the show as well as a host of familiar faces. The game features 50 different versions of Stranger Things characters, along with familiar enemies such as Demogorgons, and "hundreds" of supernatural monsters. Unlock rewards and upgrades, progress through puzzle quests, and master characters' abilities to head straight into the heart of the Upside Down.

Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales is deeply rooted in the Stranger Things show and its lore, and will give players the chance to work through many of the strange and creepy locations fan know and love. Locations in the puzzle game include areas seen throughout all three seasons of the Netflix hit, including where the show began with Mike's basement and the Palace Arcade, as well as Hawkins National Laboratory and Starcourt Mall. Fan-favorite characters including young heroes Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Will, Dustin, and Max, will also be featured alongside the likes of Chief Jim Hopper, Joyce, Steve, and Nancy.

The latest Stranger Things game should go some way in appeasing those still waiting for new episodes of the show. While the new season will likely be worth the wait for viewers, players have taken to video games to create their own Stranger Things in titles like Animal Crossing to help pass the time until its release. While Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales offers unique visuals and new stories, it's still very much a Stranger Things game, not only starring the same characters and settings, but also providing the spooky and unnerving supernatural peril the show is best known for. Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales could help make the road to the release of the show's fourth season a little more fun.
