Perfectly timed to coincide with the release of Stranger Things season 2 (which is streaming on Netflix now), the greatest ever Eleven cosplay has emerged on the internet. You’ll never look at Millie Bobby Brown’s El in quite the same way, once you’ve witnessed this epic homemade version.
The promos for the new season have hinted that Finn Wolfhard’s Mike will be reaching out to Eleven, following her disappearance at the end of season 1. Additionally, the cast of the show have told Screen Rant what to expect from their characters, in addition to teasing that this new batch of binge-friendly episodes will balance an increased sense of scope with some good old-fashioned emotional drama.
Now, thanks to Reddit user Cooter_McDoogletron, a brilliant cosplay of Stranger Things’ Eleven has found its way into the hearts and minds of the show’s fans. Cooter shared this image of his “buddy dressed up as Eleven in honor of Stranger Things season 2”, and the Reddit community absolutely loved it:
There’s just something inherently funny about a large guy like this squeezing into a pretty darned accurate Eleven cosplay. Millie Bobby Brown would probably be impressed, as he’s even got an Eggo prop to match, and the perfect frowning facial expression.
The post currently has 151,000 upvotes. And one fan, by the name of Chop_Artista, took to Photoshop to mash Cooter’s buddy into the official Stranger Things season 2 poster. The results, shared on Imgur, will astound you:
Now that’s a damn fine Photoshop job. Cooter and his buddy probably had a good laugh crafting that cosplay and taking the photo, but they can’t have predicted this level of reaction. The original Reddit post has been flooded with adoration, garnering such comments as “made my day”, “amazing”, and “This is by far the best rendition of Eleven I’ve ever seen!” And, as one particularly astute commenter noted, “It's all in the eyes. He just has that 1000 yard stare of a 10 year old girl who has been to the upside down.”
Stranger Things season 2 is now available for streaming through Netflix.
