Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical survival game Dead By Daylight has introduced brand-new looks for the game’s Stranger Things cast – including its first Legendary Set for one of the show’s characters. Dead By Daylight first released back in 2016 and is well-known for its many horror crossovers. The game pits four characters, optimistically called survivors, against one killer intent on taking out the other characters. In the title’s Stranger Things Chapter, players can take on the role of either the show’s protagonists, Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler, or the deadly Demogorgon.

Stranger Things' first introduction to the game came in a 2019 update. The trailer for the update revealed it would bring with it more content than the game had seen in the past, with two playable characters for players to choose from alongside the popular series’ tabletop-inspired killer. Dead By Daylight also brought the Hawkins National Laboratory to the game as a new, creepy map. Earlier this year, the cast got a new set of very rare outfits when the Days of Growth Collection went live. Even the monstrous Demogorgon got its own, fresh Geo Mutation skin.

Now, Dead By Daylight is offering more looks for the characters in its Moment of Truth Collection. The collection also debuts a Stranger Things Legendary Set that will let fans play as another of the show’s protagonists, Jonathan Byers. This legendary look actually belongs to the existing playable character, Steve Harrington. The developers explain that the skin will let Harrington look like Byers, with his signature jeans and jacket look, and Harrington’s hair will also grow longer and less kempt when wearing the Legendary Set. The outfit will cost players 1,485 Auric Cells. Though not legendary, Nancy Wheeler also has a fresh set of clothes costing a slightly more affordable 1,080 Auric Cells. Her new look, called The Impulsive Activist, includes a shorter haircut and more rugged-looking apparel. Not all of the game’s Stranger Things content will cost players, however, as those that have not bought Dead By Daylight’s Stranger Things Chapter can play as the show’s themed survivors and killer.

In addition to this Stranger Things announcement, the Dead By Daylight team also revealed its plans for Pride Month earlier this week. Free rainbow flag trinkets can be found in the game and Pride emotes are returning. The studio will also be hosting a charity fundraiser stream to benefit The Trevor Project and Project 10.

It is great to see Stranger Things’ popular character Jonathan Byers in Dead By Daylight, though it would have been more interesting if it was more than just a cosmetic option. Though the legendary outfit will physically morph Steve Harrington into Byers, the developers indicated the new look would not come with any additional abilities. Perhaps with the character’s likeness already in the game, it will make it easier to introduce a real version in the future.
